About the home

Yesil Dag Villa (Green Mountain) is in the centre of the village of Uzumlu in a valley surrounded by pine forests nestling in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains. Our luxury villa has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, kitchen/diner, separate lounge, large garden with fruit trees, private pool and kushk. Our villa offers a quiet and peaceful location in which to unwind and enjoy the unspoilt panoramic views.
From the villa its just a short stroll to the village square with a mosque, bars, restaurants and access to the local dolmus (minibus). In just 20 mins drive you can be on the beach at Calis or in the harbour town of Fethiye where local boat trips run daily. A short drive away is the world renowned 'Blue Lagoon' at Olu Deniz. Dalaman International Airport is within an hours drive from Uzumlu which makes our villa an ideal place to get away from it all but with Olu Deniz and Gocek within easy reach you can also be as lively as you wish.

Ground floor of the villa consists of a fully fitted kitchen/diner, separate lounge with log fire, and a large wet room/w.c. Also downstairs is a large store room for sun loungers, inflatables BBQ equipment.
First floor consists of 4 large comfortable bedrooms, 2 with en-suite and a family bathroom.

Outside leading from the lounge is a covered, gated veranda with access to the large private garden with fruit trees inc pool and patio area.. Within the garden is a kushk (turkish seating area) and a chimney style B.B.Q.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Around the Meditterean and Agean Coast line the Turkish people are very friendly and receptive to tourists. There is a wonderful sunny climate with temperatures reaching high 40's during the summer season. Uzumlu, 400 metres above sea level is frequently at least 5 degrees cooler than Fethiye, with pleasant mountain breezes. The evening temperatures encourage Al Fresco eating and many local restaurants provide outdoor seating.
The history of the area is a rich mix of Lycian, Roman and Catholic with many ruins to visit. Cadianda is very local to Uzumlu and further afield you can easily explore Patara, Dalayan and Ephysus for the day. For more recent history visit the ghost town of Kaya Koy which has been left untouched since the Greeks left following a war with Turkey.
For picturesque scenery Salikent Gorge is well worth a visit along with the world reknowned Blue Lagoon at Olu Deniz, providing safe bathing in the turquoise waters of the shallow lake, being ideal for young children.

The Uzumlu / Dikencik area

The Village of Yesil Uzumlu meaning Green Grape in Turkish, is a small traditional Turkish village where the locals still weave and make their own wines which are available to taste in the Wine House. The surrounding pine forest mountainside provides beautiful scenery. There are several bars and restaurants within the village, easy walking distance from the villa. Also there is a local market selling fresh fruit and veg, held on fridays. Uzumlu is a wonderful place to chill out and unwind. The nearest beach is at Calis, 20 mins drive from Uzumlu, with several bars and restaurants facing a promenade onto the beach. this is an exceptional place to sit and watch the sunsetting over the sea whist having a relaxing drink. just 5 mins from Calis is Fethiye, a bustling harbour town where you can choose from many boat trips visiting the surrounding islands. 2 larger open air markets are held in Calis and Fethiye where you can practise your bartering skills. In Fethiye try a turkish bath [hammam] for a unique cleansing experience.
From Hisarnu and Olu Deniz clubs and bars come alive at night with a buzzing atmosphere. Also from these areas during the day you can access paragliding, horse riding, quad biking and water sports from enthusiastic beginners to adrenalin junkies. Not far away, either privately by car or organised tour you can experience white water rafting or river ringo riding.
