About the home

Our beautiful "Villa in the Sun" is in the heart of a traditional Turkish Village, in a conservation area, untouched by change for hundreds of years and completely unspoilt by time. If you are looking for peace, tranquillity, beautiful surroundings and the authentic Turkish lifestyle, without being saturated with tourists, Uzumlu is the place for you and your family. There are a few bars/restaurants and supermarkets, a high quality butcher, and a wonderful bakery. There is also a weekly market displaying fresh fruit, vegetables, spices and much more, all local and organically grown. Take the dolmus from the Village Square into Fethiye where you can explore all of the areas amenities, boat trips, paragliding, scuba diving, shopping and nightlife to name but a few. Its all there, depending on what you want from your holiday.
This privately owned Villa, not on a complex, is set in a convenient and beautiful location for 6 people, less than a 5 minute walk from the Village Square where you will find the supermarkets, bars, restaurants and Dolmus service into Fethiye. With private pool (sun loungers, dining table, 6 chairs), BBQ, 3 bedrooms, 3rd bedroom on mezannine floor, 1 with balcony and 1 with outside terrace both with outside furniture, 2 bathooms, 1 with full size bath and shower, 1 with shower cubicle, fully equipped kitchen. Quality bed linen and towels provided (but not beach/pool towels).
Flights, transfers, car hire, 10 day stays, longer stays, maid service (at an additional cost), cots/highchairs are all available on request in order to make your choice of Villa Goldswain totally stress free and the perfect holiday.

The 3rd double bedroom is situated on the Mezanine floor, this shares bathroom facilities with either of the two other bedrooms. There is a kingsize bed, wardrobe, two bedside cabinets and chest of drawers.

The front the Villa/pool has the benefit of full sun all day with the sun setting over the BBQ area in the evening which makes for a very pleasant evening BBQ.

Please note at present the TV is not connected to Digiturk or any Turkish TV broadcasts, it is purely for use with DVDs.
The is also an iPod dock available.
All guests must have adequate travel insurance and dates of birth for all guests will be required.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The Lyian/Turquoise coast is very historical, there are many places of interest with stunning scenery, Olu Deniz, Ovacik, Hisaronou, Calis and Fethiye to name but a few and are all within easy reach of the Villa. The Villa is surrounded by mountains, less than a 5 minute walk from the village square. The air is pure and extremely good for asthmatics. The water is pure mountain water. There is access to several markets, Friday market in Uzumlu, Sunday market in Calis and a Tuesday market in Fethiye. The climate in Uzumlu is about 5 degrees cooler than in built up areas such as Fethiye therefore making it the perfect climate in July and August. The Villa is set in its own grounds, not on a complex, so total privacy is on your own doorstep.

The Uzumlu area

The Villa is situated in the centre of the village and extremely convenient for supermarkets and restaurants most of which are less than a 3/5 minute stroll from the Villa. Also, on a short stroll from the Villa you can watch the Turkish weavers producing the local "Dastar" fabric. Most houses have a loom and the ladies will willingly show you how the fabric is made. Turkish hospitality means you are likely to be offered something to eat or drink. In return, they would like you to buy a souvenir, but there is, most definitely, no pressure to buy, you will just be experiencing the true culture of Turkey and a real feel for the life in the village. Cadianda is an historical site just outside Uzumlu. There are a few bars and restaurants around with this name as the site is quite famous and well worth visiting. There is also the Friday market, where you will buy incredible tasting fruit and vegetgables all of which organically grown.

We spent 2 weeks at this Villa which is situate in such a convenient position, central in the middle of Uzumlu Village, with supermarkets and restaurants so nearby. We would begin by saying that we had a wonderful holiday, which was in large part due to the quality of the accommodation and the location of the villa, right in the heart of the village which meant that we got a real feel for the real Turkey. Given what was charged for our stay, this was extremely good value for money. We found the Villa very comfortable, beds, sitting room, with an extremely well equipped kitchen. To sum up, we loved the villa and had a wonderful holiday and would not hesitate to recommend the villa to family and friends- two extremely happy clients who would like to say to everyone who uses the villa, we hope you are as happy with the experience as we were - Mr and Mrs C - Hertfordshire.
