About the home

Set in 3 hectares of gorgeous gardens and natural meadowland, Mas de la Bousquette looks out onto rolling countryside to the foothills of Mont Bouquet and the mountains of the Cévennes. With its tranquility and sense of timelessness the mas has been superbly and lovingly restored with every care taken to preserve its unique character. With its heated pool it is an idyllic place to stay at any time of the year.

Our charming gites are furnished with style and are equipped to the highest standards and rental is inclusive of absolutely everything including a welcome Provencal dinner with us on your first evening. Our one bedroom gite Le Murier is luxuriously romantic and can accommodate 2-4 people. Perfect for honeymoons or that special anniversary.

This is a place to relax and just 'be' in the wonderful warm clear Provencal climate. With just 2 gites we are never crowded and relaxation is guaranteed. Equally, children will be happy with the pool and our numerous animals.

Le Murier, once the silk works of the ancient farm, is utterly charming with lovely views over fields to the village. There is a spacious and bright living room with a fireplace and a fully fitted and equipped kitchen . The double bedroom is delightful - very romantic with an antique iron and brass king-size bed.

We believe in giving our guests nothing but the best. So with your comfort in mind you will find absolutely everything you need - exquisitely comfortable beds with luxuriously cool white cotton sheets, fluffy towels for bath and pool, ceiling fans and a high standard of equipment in the kitchen.

- Guests are free to enjoy our 7 acres of grounds including beautiful gardens, ponds and open meadows. Wander in a meadow full of wild herbs, butterflies and orchids. Snooze in a hammock by one of our Koi ponds. Play with our dogs in the fields. Perfect for relaxing.
- The heated 11m x 5m pool, safe within its walled garden, is swimmable from April to October.
- Each gite has its own private terrace and separate garden with BBQ.

Further details

Fully inclusive with no extras. You are invited to join us for a special Provencal dinner on your first evening and we can then provide meals on request and organic produce for your enjoyment. Freshly-baked bread and pastries brought to your front door for breakfast every morning.
A security deposit of 300 euros is payable on arrival

Conditions

We have dogs, cats, rare breed hens and peafowl. Your well behaved dog is welcome by arangement please.

The property is perfect for children of all ages. We provide cots, high chairs, baby alarms, boxes of toys etc. Baby sitting usually possible.

This is a completely non smoking property.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Gard region

This is Gard Provencal and is the unspoiled, undiscovered Provence. The climate is wonderful all year and the countryside is utterly unspoiled and lovely. We are within easy reach of Avignon, Nimes, Montpelier, Arles, the Camargue and the beaches. All within an easy day trip. The area is full of Roman and mediaeval history. Use us as a base for those wonderful summer music festivals - Orange and Avignon just a short drive away.

Be warned one week is not enough!

The Uzes / Lussan area

Lussan is a charming unspoilt Heuguenot village situated on a hilltop. Our Mas sits at its foot a few minutes walk away. We have a shop, a post office, 2 cafes nearby.

Uzes is one of France's most beautiful towns. Mediaeval with Roman roots, it is completely unspoiled and utterly charming. It has plenty of shops and restaurants and its twice weekly market is deservedly famous.

Plenty of activities nearby include ballooning, climbing, canoeing, paragliding, riding and cycling. We have 4 bikes for our guests to use; boules and croquet in the garden.

- Ryanair flights from Luton, Stansted, Liverpool, E Midlands to Nimes (45 min. drive) and Montpelier (80 min).
Flybe, Easyjet and other airlines fly to Avignon Montpelier, Marseilles, Lyon and Nice.

- TGV from Paris/Lille to Avignon/Nimes ( 45 min) with links to Eurostar or, in summer, direct trains from London.

- No public transport to Lussan therefore car hire is essential - Car hire is easy from airports and TGV stations.

- Allow 10 hours by road from Calais. (1000km)

“Magical” This is a delightful spot with lovely gardens and surrounding area. The accommodation is attractive and spacious all of which are accessed by fairly steep stone steps. The kitchen is well-equipped with washing machine and dishwasher and the bathroom has a bath and shower. There is no TV but there is no need in such a peaceful place. A car is essential as the area is quite rural. There is a local small supermarket within walking distance and other larger supermarkets further away. Tim and Pippa are excellent hosts and produce a delicious welcome supper the first night of arrival. They have dogs, cats and hens so a love of animals is a help! The guests are always free to wander the gardens and enjoy the swimming pool. Tim and Pippa are not at all intrusive. Although the accommodation is on the more expensive side, it is worth it.

Saturday to Saturday only. Our rates avarage only about 220 euros per person per week (for 4) and are fully inclusive of all you will need - all towels linen etc all taxes and charges. We give you toileteries, a starter pack and a gourmet Provencal dinner with wine on your arrival.

Easter and Christmas weeks are normally charged at May rates however, as Easter is early this year we will stick to our seasonal rates.
