Home description
Come and enjoy the beautifully decorated and only gîte (guest cottage) in our mas (provencal countryside property), in the middle of the vineyards and fields.
You will feel comfortable in the large but cosy studio (37 square metres) with a very nice newly refurbished kitchen area and a big double bed.
The outdoor area offers deck chairs with cushions and a terrace where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner or simply relax after a day out discovering the region. There are no other houses around to block the view towards Mont Bouquet and the Cévennes: the sunsets are wonderful !
If you feel like a dip, you will be welcome to use our swimming-pool. It is large enough to have a swim (9m x 4m) and you will enjoy the chirping of the birds who dwell in our garden. If you are lucky enough, you might even catch a glimpse of one of the green lizards who like to sunbathe near the cistus bushes covered with purple flowers in spring.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Gard region
With its long tradition of agriculture and winemaking, the Gard département can always offer you a good meal.
From your gite, ideally located in the middle of the Gard, you will feel free to explore the very different types of wonderful landscapes, the beautiful villages and Roman buildings it offers. From the preserved Cévennes mountains, through the rough Garrigues hills, across the natural reservation in Camargue to the sandy beaches of the Lion Gulf, you will always feel thrilled.
Whether you fancy a sporty holiday , a Roman heritage trip or a quiet "French way of life" break, you will find that the area is so rich that it is the perfect spot for any of these get-aways.
Uzes / Blauzac area
Only ten minutes from the gite, Uzès, near the border of Provence, proudly recalls its episcopal, consular and ducal past with its castle and lavish town houses. You will be able to enjoy this unique city which is both historic and lively especially on Saturday or Wednesday mornings, our market days. No wonder so many artists have chosen to settle here !
Our village, Blauzac, is a small authentic place with its picturesque old narrow streets, its Roman Catholic and Protestant churches, its castle and fountain but its secret treasure is the "trois cabanes": three stone capitelles built together in the heart of a green oak tree wood. You may also appreciate its two little restaurants (read guest book extracts below).
The world-famous Roman aquaduct, the Pont du Gard, is only 15 minutes from Blauzac. It runs across the Gardon River, on which one can travel by canoeand make many enticing discoveries amidst the wild Gorges.
20 minutes from Blauzac is the wonderful city of Nîmes, with its Roman monuments (the Arena, the Tour Magne in the middle of the beautiful Jardins de la Fontaine ). Nîmes is also well known for its feria (festival with street bands, bull fights, balls..) but all the villages around Nîmes have their own "encierros" and "abrivados" throughout spring and summer, in which white horses and black cows are the stars: Camargue horses (local little white horses) are ridden by "manadiers" (local cowboys) to lead a small herd of black cows through the streets.
And if you don't mind spending one hour driving you can also easily discover many other beautiful, interesting places such as Avignon with its famous bridge and the Palais des Papes, Arles, Aigues Mortes: the city within medieval remparts and its Salt Marshes or the Ornithologic Park of Pont de Gau where wild flamingoes can be observed as if they were domesticated !
