Relaxing French retreat!!!
About the home
My home is a maison de village, located between Avignon and Nîmes, in a tiny quiet village near to Uzes, on the Cotes Du Rhone trail. The house is terraced and on 2 stories, perched on a rock. It is an old barn that has been converted to a house. There are 2 bedrooms and an open terrace. The loft that extends over the living room can also be used as an extra room. The staircases are "floating", so are not considered suitable for young children and the elderly.
The bread truck arrives every morning and there is swimming available nearby, including at the magnificant Pont Du Gard, Rocque-sur-Cèze and an outdoor pool in Uzès. Bicycles may be rented from nearby St.Quentin la Poterie.
The house has all conveniences except wifi, which is in the village. Mobile phones get reception there with no problems. It truly is a relaxing area and even after a few days you will come back restored!!

Enquire nowThe Languedoc-Roussillon / Gard region
This great region is one of the most fascinating areas of Europe, bordering the Mediterranean Sea to the east and the Pyrenees Mountains to the south.
The area benefits from an exceptional climate "Mediterranean Climate" and has an unusually rich wildlife, a spectacular coast, and surprising history.
Things to see in this beautiful region include mountains, rivers and lakes, ancient cities, towns, villages, thermal springs, abbeys, and cathedrals, châteaux and the famous mountain fortresses popularly known as Cathar Castles.
It also possesses a good number of World Heritage sites, including Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi, and the Pont du Gard.
The Uzes / Saint Quentin La Poterie area
Uzès is a charming medieval city (pop. 8,300) in the Languedoc-Rousillon region of southern France, about 20 miles north of Nîmes, 30 miles west of Avignon, 100 miles from Marignane Airport in Marseilles, 60 miles from the Mediterranean Sea.
French foods and wines run the gamut, from those items that are gathered, hunted or fished (mushrooms, herbs, game, fish) to those raised, grown, harvested or slaughtered (fruits, vegetables, fowl, meats), to those truly manmade products given further treatment for a different, more heightened taste (wine, cheese, charcuterie, confections).

So fantastic to get away from it all. Charming French village with rustic character. Love the ability to roam out in the vinyard and just listen to the frogs sing at night! I just relaxed by the fireplace drinking wine all night. Loved the kitchen and the ability to experiment with all the tasty foods I did on my many, and I do mean, MANY food shoppings outings!!! Dont stay here if you want all the amnities of modern life, but DO stay heret o enjoy the rural charm of yesteryear. My only regret is drinking so much wine,, omg so much wine!!! My only suggestion would be to perhaps get a nice big canopy for the terrace!!!!! |

Summer evenings drinking local wines on the lovely terrace, the unique interior of the house cut into the rock face is just amazing. The local village setting is perfectly placed to get away from it all yet with easy access to Uzes and other elegant towns. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay in the south of France. |
