Home description
The old stone building can be cool in hot weather. The accommodation is comfortable rather than luxurious. In the Salon, there is a spiral stair and an old wood burning stove; to the left, you find the simple kitchen and dining space. There are ground floor and first floor bedrooms, arranged around the courtyard, which is enclosed by a Barn and a stone wall. The balcony rooms have french doors with lovely views from the balcony. Some ground floor rooms are vaulted; all rooms have tiled floors.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Gard region
Gard is very warm in the summer months, day and night, but has thunder storms occasionally. You can explore the roman towns of Nimes and Arles, and the papal town of Avignon easily. Day trips can be made to Pont du Gard, Aix en Provences, the Cevennes (walking and river swimming), the Ardeche (swimming and canoeing),and the Mediterrannean coast, with the crusader town of Grau de Roi (and its lovely beach L'Espiguette) , walled town of Aigues Mortes, and Les Saintes Maries de Mer and La Grande Motte for beaches. Also, you can visit the bird sanctuaries and nature trails in the Camargue, with its cowboys, white horses and black bulls.
Uzes area
Facing vineyards and olive groves to the south, the house is on the edge of a village, situated some 10km west from the mediaeval town of Uzes. The town itself has a wonderful market on Saturday (and edibles only, on Wednesday) and is famous for its tower , palace and shaded lanes and shops. There are locations for bike hire, tennis and golf. Festivals take place in July and August. Nearer the house is La Bouscarasse for family water activities, including canoeing.
How to get there
Flights are available with Ryanair from London & Liverpool to Nimes and Montpellier, Air France to Montpellier, East Midlands Airway from Southampton to Avignon or Montpellier, Easyjet (Gatwick) to Montpellier and British Airways to Marseille. Eurostar and TGV go to Avignon and/or Nimes. Cheap car hire is available through the carrier's recommended company. The Mas is approx. 640 miles from Calais, 600 of which is on motorway.

It is the renters responsibility to ensure the safeguarding and security, of their own and Owners' property during their stay.
