About the home

The accommodation comprises a 25 sq. m. independent studio, located in a small shared garden, in the very centre of the city. It comprises a double and a single-bed, a fully equipped kitchenette, shower and basin, separate toilets. There are 5 windows overlooking the garden. The studio is located behind the main house, in a paved, pedestrian street.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Gard region

Uzes, the 'France First Duchy' is surrounded by a wonderful landscape of 'garrigue', a type of vegetation composed of bushes, pines and green oaks typical of chalky soils. It is at walking distance of the famous 'Vallee de l'Eure' with its numerous footpaths where the Romans found the spring they brought to the city of Nimes through the nearby worldwide renown PONT DU GARD. Lovely old villages around the ducal city. Numerous historical sites from the pre-Roman period to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Gard stretches from the beautiful wild Cevennes Mountains and sweeps down to the endless sandy beaches of the Mediterranean.

With its light similar to the one of Tuscany, the Gard is a favourite for artists of all kinds, with of course many art exhibitions and cultural events. Hiking, golfing, swimming, horse riding, bicycling are provided, not to speak about touring to beautiful art cities such as Avignon, Nimes, Arles, all this will make it unforgettable to you.

The Uzes area

Uzes, the 'first Duchy of France', is internationally known with its streets reminiscent of the past and its beautiful mansions, its impressive Duchy, its baroque-type Cathedral and Eglise St-Etienne, its famous 'Place aux Herbes' with its typical arcades and its renowned Provençal market twice a week. Many festivals are organized throughout the summer (Baroque Music, New Dance, Horses and bulls, etc).

It is a favourite with numerous artists, painters, writers, and a lively cultural life. Activities available in the local area include cycling, horse riding, mountain biking, roller blading, swimming, tennis, walking, hiking, climbing and kayaking. Golf is available within 5 minutes drive.

- Local airport at Nimes (RYAN Low Cost company from London to Nimes).

main stations: Nimes and Avignon.

Regular buses from Avignon and Nimes to Uzes (more frequent from Nimes than from Avignon).

“Great location and charming owner” The garden chalet is located in the heart of Uzes, within walking distance of the historic centre. The studio is quaint but has everything you need and we spent a very pleasant, relaxed week there. Although the chalet is in the garden quite near to the main house, Nicole, the owner is very discreet! She is quite charming and made us most welcome. She was also able to arrange secure parking nearby. Given the overall prices for this area it represents good value for money
