Situated along a country lane on the edge of the picturesque village of Upwey, Cobblestone House has been skilfully refurbished by its current owners to offer highly desirable, family accommodation.

Dating back to the 1500's, when it served as the Granary for the nearby Friary, Cobblestone House combines original features – the ancient timber structure and huge cruck beams are particularly impressive – with light, stylishly furnished living spaces, decorated in a subtle, Farrow and Ball palette.

Cobblestone House offers excellent facilities, including a state-of-the-art, 'Neptune' kitchen with dining area, a big sitting room with inglenook and a superb, double-height, master bedroom. An outbuilding provides a really useful, extra sitting/TV room/kids' den with single garage and bike storage below.

Entrance up steps into hallway leading into a light, spacious, open-plan kitchen/dining room with French windows opening out onto the garden. Connecting door from kitchen to larder/storage room. Further doors lead to a downstairs wc, utility room and rear entrance lobby. Downstairs wet room/wc with underfloor heating off the hallway. Sitting room with woodburner in an inglenook fireplace and large flat screen TV with integral HiFi system.

Carpeted, oak stairs lead to the first 1st floor and four bedrooms. Large master bedroom with zip & link beds offering a choice of super kingsize double or twin beds; sitting area with armchairs and fireplace with woodburner. Two further double bedrooms with kingsize beds. Twin bedroom (NB one bed is at a higher level than the other). Bathroom/WC with wall mounted shower above the bath.

Outbuilding just across the garden with extra sitting/TV room, separate wc and double doors leading out onto a balcony with views over the surrounding countryside. Single garage below accessed from the driveway.

Fenced and gated, south-facing garden; upper level with paved area and barbecue; lawned area just below. Further, vegetable patch/soft fruit & herb garden beyond the garage.

The surrounding area has something for everyone; keen walkers and cyclists will find footpaths and suitable cycle routes on the doorstep, while for those keen on watersports, Weymouth, with its long sandy beach and marina incorporating the Olympic sailing centre, is just three miles away. A unique stretch of Dorset's Jurassic coastline is within easy driving distance - Durdle Door, Sandbanks, Studland Bay and Poole Harbour to the east and the Chesil Beach, the Fleet Lagoon, Abbotsbury Swannery and Sub-tropical Gardens to the west. The county town of Dorchester (Dinosaur Museum & multiplex cinema) is 3 miles.

Upwey itself is a charming village nestling beneath South Dorset chalk downland with mainline station to London (Waterloo), several pubs, a 13th century church, art gallery and the well-known Wishing Well tea rooms and water garden.
