About the home
The house is fully contained with air conditioners in each bedroom and the living room. It also boasts a dishwasher, 6-burner gas stove and sleeps six comfortably. There is one king bedroom, one queen plus two single couches in the living room which could be utilised for children or two adults. There are two lovely bathrooms - a contemporary internal bathroom plus an outside bathroom which provides a view of the beach at all times.
A caretaker is always on site, providing breakfast daily, and responding to any requests of guests including additional catering, groceries, sight seeing, laundry and transportation.
A beautiful house, architecturally designed and positioned to make the most of the spectacular beach and palm tree views. Sit back, enjoy a cool drink and decide what fresh seafood you would like for dinner.

An abundance of fresh seafood, exotic fruits and vegetables make eating in Sri Lanka a treat, not to mention the fabulous spicy curries and local cuisine. Local artisans are on hand to paint, weave, carve and design for you whether you are interested in art, jewellery or clothes.
The house is perfect for family holidays, that romantic getaway or an action packed surfing destination.

A lovely tropical or Sri Lankan breakfast is provided daily at a time which suits you. Our caretaker is able to provide advice about the area, local transportation and pick up groceries, freshly caught seafood or other goods.

The southern beaches of Sri Lanka are famous for their surf and fabulous fishing spots. The house is only moments away from Unawatuna, and ten minutes from Galle by tuc tuc where you can book scuba, surf and or fishing trips.
Unwatuna has often been rated Sri Lanka's #1 beach, famous for its beauty, surf, bird watching and friendly locals.
The Unawatuna / Mihiripanna area
Sri Lanka is also famous for its precious and semi-precious stones with jewellers available to make pieces on request. Take photos along so you are well prepared if this interests you.
Travelling inland, you can visit a number of very important and lovely temples passing rice paddy fields and tea/cinnamon plantations along the way.
Spa and health facilities are available in a number of the 5*star hotels locally including the Fortress Hotel at Kogalla or the AmanGala in Galle.

Marley's Beach House is situated in a little village on the south coast called Mihiripanna. More recognisable is the larger tourist town of Unawatuna only moments before Mihiripanna on the coastal road. Travellers should ask to go to Unawatuna and travel through to Mirhipanna (past the Wijaya Beach Hotel) and then look for our sign on the beach side of the road plus a high white stucco wall. Any problems you can contact the caretaker.
By Air
During different times of the year, Sri Lankan Airlines operate an air taxi which lands on lagoons or lakes on the southern coast. The closest stop for the Beach House is at Koggalla Air Force Base Lake. See http://www.srilankan.aero/ to check availability for your dates.
Direct international flights come into Colombo's Bandaranaike Airport twice daily from many destinations including the Middle East, Asia and Europe.The international airport at Colombo is less than four hours from Dubai and less than ten from most destinations in Europe, 3.5 hrs from Singapore.
By Car
Travellers can arrange a car on the spot at Colombo airport which will take them directly to the house. If you would prefer, we can also arrange a driver to pick you up with a sign board and drive you directly. Travel time is between 2.5 and 4 hours depending on the time of day and traffic.
