"Lovely house set in a beautiful garden with amazing views"

I stayed her back in September with my girlfriend for just over a week. The house is in amazing condition with a great layout, with the main bedroom having a stunning outside/inside bathroom. The outside terraced area is were you will spend most of your time has a hanging chair and a technicolor of scatter cushions. The owner I understand had the fantastic dinning table made out of a mango tree which had to be cut down to extend the house. Set up a hill giving the house a lovely breeze and stunning views.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at Ambakanda. The mango tree you mentioned was unfortunately dying which is why we had to cut it down. When extending the house we were careful to do so around the trees we have in the garden, trying to work with nature rather than against her... Hope to see you back sometime soon.

"time to escape"

I have been to Sri Lanka many times and this was my second stay at Ambakanda and It keeps getting better. Great location to relax and unwind while being close to the beach, Galle and other local attractions. Lovely relaxed environment offering great facilities (inc. hammocks). Jotha will be on hand to provide local knowledge, call a TukTuk or make a cup of tea if you feel the walk to the kitchen is too far and his Sri Lankan breakfasts are amazing. Highly recommended for friends, family or a hide away stay.

Glad that you enjoyed your stay at Ambakanda, always nice to have return visitors . Hope to welcome you back sometime soon.
