The Umbria region
Ca di Bracco is on the border of Tuscany and Umbria. From here one can visit the towns of Southern Tuscany: Siena, Arezzo, Sansepulchro, Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza and the Val d'Orcia. In Umbria; Lake Trasimeno is a short drive, there are ferries to the islands, a beach at Tuoro with sunbeds for hire, pedaloes, children's play equipment and trampolines. There are the interesting resort towns of Passignano and Castiglione del Lago. Other Umbrian towns to visit are: Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Montone, Citta di Castello, Todi, Deruta and Orvieto. Florence can be reached by car or train for a day trip and even Rome can be visited for a day.
Umbertide is the nearest town, about a 12km drive. It has many shops and supermarkets and several good restaurants and pizzeria. There is a weekly colourful market and in September it celebrates it's festa of the 1800s which is always a local highlight.
the Niccone Valley is one of the most sought-after locations in the Tuscany-Umbria area, it is a beautiful green valley dotted with castles and stone houses full of olive groves and vineyards. The local vineyard is 5 minutes drive from Ca di Bracco and the owners run regular wine evenings at the vineyard. It is a great place for walking.
The small village of Spedalicchio is 2km drive and has a small grocery store.
