"Great outdoor space!!"

Whilst we had a fabulous stay and all would say the barn was more than adequate, especially considering our party size (+ 3 dogs) we did have a few gripes.
The barn wasn't particularly clean and the comment in the welcome pack referring to the cleaners having limited time to turn the barn around between guests we feel was unacceptable...the simple solution to ensure the barn is cleaned to a 'good' standard would be to employ more cleaners.
On booking the barn we were promised 2 high chairs and 1 cot. On arrival there was a travel cot (which is by no way acceptable for an 18mths old and 1 high chair that we had doubts whether to use because it was filthy).
The barn is beautiful, however we felt that a few things had not been maintained as they should for such an amazing building. The kettle leaked, the ironing board had no cover, there was a distinct shortage of glasses/crockery and pans especially considering it can accommodate 8+. The bedding was worn and when we stripped the beds (as requested) the pillows and duvets were stained, again it does not cost much to either replace or the simple solution would be to use protectors.

Whilst the hot tub was a definate treat it seems contradictory to pay for the running of it when the simple things that families rely on just weren't up to scratch.
The garden was amazing, and whilst not truly enclosed all 3 of our dogs loved it and not once escaped. It was a little drive to the nearest shop/supermarket for supplies but that's the beauty of spending our holiday in such idilllic peace and quiet and a picture perfect view across the Devonshire countryside.
The welcome basket of yummy goodies was very much appreciated, and a lovely touch to welcome us into the barn.
