About the home

Old Mill House has a large double aspect sitting room overlooking the large garden, with a wood burner in the alcove for cosy evenings beside the fire. From the hall you can walk out on to a patio area complete with garden furniture and a gas barbeque.

One of seven high quality holiday cottages owned by Woolhanger estate. To see our other cottages and online booking and payment please see our website (link to website is within the contact owner section).

Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with ensuite shower and WC, and a twin bedroom with separate shower and WC.

The kitchen/dining area is upstairs with a fully fitted kitchen including integrated fridge and dishwasher, ceramic hob, electric oven/grill. There is a seating area and a second TV with views to the river and across the wooded valley. There is a telephone in the cottage, which receives all incoming calls and allows local outgoing calls.

There is a second double bedroom upstairs, which has views over the enclosed back garden. This has a separate bathroom and shower room.

The Taw is about two hundred yards away and is reached by crossing the railway branch line. We have 2.5 miles of fishing which is looked

On arrival you will find a welcome pack containing locally produced essentials and goodies including a bottle of wine in the fridge.

There is Digital TV, DVD player and separate CD player.

You can arrange for groceries to be delivered to the cottages from the Barnstaple branch of Tesco or Sainsburys.

We do allow one small dog by prior arrangement, but must be notified when booking. We do ask that they stay off carpeted areas and the furniture.

There is enough off road parking for two vehicles.

Our prices are inclusive; there are NO extras for logs (where applicable), linen, dogs, heating, etc.

“Excellent Location, Large Property Aimed at fly fisherman, but great for families as well” Great Location, close enough to Barnstaple that you dont need to plan your life around trips to the shops, close to the Beach but far enough away from people to ensure a rural holiday feeling, the owner and agent have a few properties, we have enjoyed them all so far. This property is aimed at fly fishermen with fishing rights and maps on the walls but taking that aside its a great venue for a break. The Agent Terri is very helpful and can count on our repeat visits. The River is close-by and pretty with a fantastic pub 'The Bell Inn' a few miles away in Chittlehampton. Response: Thank you for writting a review.Its realy nice to know all our efforts send people home with happy memories, even when the weathers not wonferful!! Many thanks Terri.

“Very comfortable house” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Mill House - comfortable, well equipped and and well placed for exploring North Devon. The river was in flood most of the time that we were there, so no fishing - but that is down to Mother Nature!
