Forest Park Lodges is a new development set in 11 acres of mature woodland surrounded by rolling hills and meadows in the beautiful Taw Valley, neighbouring 94 acres of Woodland Trust land. The area is known as Tarka the Otter country and there is much to see and do. Overlooking glorious countryside, FOREST VIEW is a beautifully designed lodge, built to a high quality, with 2 en suite bedrooms, a kitchen/dining area and a spectacular ground floor living space. A perfect location for walkers and ramblers, with endless footpaths to wander, yet still within easy reach of the coast, and two 18 hole golf courses within a 10 minute drive. Whilst enjoying seclusion, FOREST VIEW is still only a mile from the nearest village providing a small shop/post office, surgery, church and two pubs. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Devon countryside, while staying in FOREST VIEW, a real home from home.
Enter through the front door into a spacious lounge, with two leather sofas, a central wooden chest full of goodies, wood laminate flooring and lots of special touches, making this a very comfortable holiday home. A large TV with SKY, DVD, VCR and PlayStation 2 are provided, as well as a large selection of DVDs, videos and PlayStation games. The owners have really thought of everything for your stay, from a substantial selection of games for children to drawers full of books, candles, colouring pencils and plenty of other activities.
FOREST VIEW has a well equipped, practical modern kitchen with wood laminate flooring. Appliances include a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, blender, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, and all other essential utensils.
Climb the staircase to the bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a twin room, tastefully decorated, with 2 single beds, a futon, and useful table and chairs. Bedroom 2, decorated in white and blue, contains a double bed with storage beneath, bedside tables, wardrobe, chest of drawers, full length mirror and plenty of attention to detail. Both bedrooms are en-suite, and have double glass doors opening onto a balcony overlooking the surrounding countryside, a great place to sit and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.
Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, with shower enclosure, WC and sink. The double room has a very spacious en-suite with plenty of thoughtful complimentary toiletries.There is an additional separate WC and basin downstairs off the hallway.
Visitors can relax on the balcony, or explore the acres of wood surrounding the lodge.

WALK TO - Walkers and those simply craving fresh air can walk for miles along footpaths and winding country roads. For a lovely day’s walking, follow the widening River Taw downstream from Umberleigh to Barnstaple, before returning by train. Umberleigh is good for a potter, with its picturesque three-arch bridge over the Taw, antiques emporium, pubs and the famous Gables Tea Rooms, serving up delicious cream teas in a colourful cafe right next to the bridge.
CYCLE TO - The Tarka Trail and the South West Peninsula Coast Path offer breathtaking views of North Devon's dramatic coast. The towns of South Molton, Great Torrington and Barnstaple are within easy reach and a little further away are the pretty resorts of Illfracombe, Woolacombe, Combe Martin and Lynmouth.
DRIVE TO - The historic town of Barnstaple is just 20 minutes away . Barnstaple, is a town where history mingles with modern shopping facilities and excellent dining and cultural experiences. Explore the historic Barnstaple Pannier Market with its local produce, crafts and antiques, or go to the cinema or theatre. Explore the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep all within driving distance. Cultural days can be passed at Arlington Court, historic Clovelly Village, Watermouth Castle, Lynton, Lynmouth, and Victorian-styled Ilfracombe with its quaint fishing harbour. Libbaton Golf club is within three quarters of a mile. Finally, picturesque walks through beautiful forested areas and running rivers such as at Watersmeet will complete your wonderful stay in this beautiful part of England. The closest rail station is the Portsmouth Arms railway station, on the Tarka line.

The smaller villages close by offer a good selection of Country Style Pubs providing a wide range of meals using Local Produce. You are also very close to two superb Golf Courses and some Great Fishing venues.
Walking, Cycling, Riding, Shooting, Fishing and Golf are all available locally and Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks are within easy reach.

"Place in the Woods"
Very well appointed and a nice place for two couples with ample space to sit and relax. All the mod cons available and plenty of utensils, mugs, plate etc to allow all the days meals to go into the dishwasher at one go. The shared balcony was very nice in the early morning sun with a cuppa and in the late afternoon with a cocktail. The poor road approach was a disappointment. The develoments are very close to each other so you have to be mindful of who can see what through the windows.
The Sky package is the bare minimum so don't expect any sports channels, (great said my mates wife !! )
It is in the wild woods of North Devon, a long walk to the pub and no shops of any note anywhere close. It took us 35 minutes every day to drive to the coast for the walks we wanted but they were excellent when we got there.
Would recommend it for the price.

"Great accommodation in a lovely rural setting"
We wanted good accommodation in Devon with a minimum of two bedrooms. This surpassed our expectations with both rooms en-suite. As well as a downstairs toilet (so no arguments between the children). Well equiped all round especially in the kitchen with both Dishwasher and Washer/Dryer even had a playstation one, which my young son enjoyed, and plenty of games.
The only negative was the 45 minute journey to the coast and the really bad access road to the property. It wouldn't take much to sort this out with some concrete as they have done in parts.
