The villa nestles amongst the verdant and padi fields of Banjar Umalas. Designed by a renowned Italian architect and published in “Tropical Asian Style”. It is a classic example of modern Balinese architecture. The style blends the contemporary with traditional design and provides a true experience of tropical open-air living. It is an integration into the Balinese garden with its undulating contours of the sloping land site, with signature low roofs, and organic shapes.
It is one of four secluded privately own villas arranged in a shared compound with swimming pool. The villa is beautifully finished in traditional Balinese materials of teak and the local white stone Palimanam. It has three fully air-conditioned bedrooms, two with king size beds and a third with a queen bed, a single bed and a sleeping platform for children.
Fully staffed and equipped the guests have the option to do their own cooking or choose from a menu of Italian and Indonesian specialities prepared by the resident chef, restaurant trained chef, Ibu Wayan. And dine in the open-air pavilion by the lily pond.
Our chef is restaurant trained and is an excellent cook, the selection of dishes ranges from homemade pastas and Indonesian favourites to freshly baked desserts.
We are only 15 mins away from the heart of Kuta yet far enough to get away from it all. There are also many very good restaurants nearby in Seminyak.
We can arrange airport pick up or car hire. Taxis are easily available and can also be booked.

The Bali region
Bali, the famed magical Island of the Gods has lost none of its vibrancy with its varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines, palm trees and sandy beaches, lush rice terraces and barren volcanic hillsides all providing a picturesque backdrop to its colourful tropical paradise.
The extra dimension comes in its sublimely deeply spiritual and unique culture, stakes a serious claim to be paradise on earth. bEvery aspect of Balinese life is suffused with religion, but the most visible signs are the tiny offerings found in every Balinese house, work place, restaurant, souvenir stall and airport check-in desk. These leaf trays are made daily and can contain an enormous range of offering items: flowers, glutinous rice, cookies, salt, and even cigarettes and coffee!
An astonishing wealth of creativity flourishes on Bali. Whole villages of dancers, musicians, weavers, sculptors, woodcarvers, stonemasons, painters and silversmiths pursue their arts as an expression of religious devotion. The Balinese have also been blessed with the inherently unselfish gift of hospitality. That with the combination of friendly, hospitable people makes it a wonderful destination with something for everyone, and though heavily travelled, it is still easy to find some peace and quiet. With world-class surfing and diving, a large number of cultural, historical and archaeological attractions, this is one of the world's most popular island destinations and one which consistently wins travel awards.
The villa is located in the quieter more peaceful area between Seminyak and Canggu. Also known as Kerobokan it is in Bali's south-west coast, which includes Umalas Village and Banjar Semer. Amongst the working rice fields on a clear day you can see the distant mountain views.
It is conveniently close to Seminyak's trendy restaurants and designer boutiques.
Many little warungs and cafes have cropped up in the most unexpected of places, offering surprisingly good food and home/villa delivery services. Our favourite local Wareong Guelis and Bumbak cafe on Jalan Bumbak if you can tear yourselves away from the villa.
There are very few shops as yet which is good! There are a number of local supermarkets, bakeries, garden centres, simple spas close by.
The main road leading north of Seminyak to Kerobokan is lined with furniture stores and workshops.

"Beautiful and tranquil oasis"
Beautiful architecture and landscaping with a big pool. Perfect for lounging and relaxing. Very quiet and tranquil when you're in the villa, but it's just a short taxi ride to shops and restaurants. Staff is friendly and courteous. Comfortable bed too. Definitely recommend and will go back again. Thanks for a great vacation!

"Great place, lovely villa, friendly staff"
Lovely place to stay if you are looking for a self catering villa, although in saying that, the staff will gladly look after you and cook your food, they will even go out and buy the food for you if you give them a list. We took that option and they supplied us with all receipts so we knew what was being spent and on what. They cooked us lovely meals and as with most of the local balinese, they are lovely natured and very friendly, kind and peaceful. One thing that did confuse us a bit was the time that staff arrived on site being 9am which I thought was a bit late, however for a self catering place I suppose this is ok. The property condition overall is good however needing some maintenance in places (bathroom) which isn't unusual when I look back at all the places I stayed at in Bali. The bathrooms had a lot of mosquitos in mainly around the toilet area, would be great if there was something that could be done about that. The garden was well maintained although half way through our stay a big Bougainvillea was removed from the pool area and a few leaves/branches were left behind after cleanup, not such a good idea as there were thorns on the branches and people swimming/walking around. But overall a nice peaceful place to stay for a family and the lounge/outside area is perfect!
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay our staff have been with us from the start and they do try their best. We don't actually come under self catering as the villa is fully staffed to look after you, cook, and clean and do your laundry. We have two shifts for the staffing and they change over mid afternoon. Our apologies about the late arrival for the staff in the morning. We have given specific instructions in the past that when we have guests with young children at least one staff has to be there by 8 to 8.30am and any further requests can always be organised in advance with our manager. With regards to the mosquitoes we can never eradicate them fully as our villa design is open plan with a big garden area. We have regular fogging and the staff spray in the rooms during the late afternoon before the next shift. We have now found a new Neem based product which is 100% organic so hopefully that would help with the mosquitoes as we try and use natural products where possible. The bathroom maintenance has already been addressed as that was our first reaction when we arrived as the toilets were recently replaced. We had bought special cleaners during our last stay but they forgot we had it!!! The gardener I am sure did not intend to leave the thorns lying around we will let him know in future that he has to be more careful sweeping up. We try very hard with our service but in Bali it still has to be constantly checked even though most of the staff have been with us for over 18 years we still have to remind them regularly! Hope we can welcome you back again. Best regards from all of us at Villa Ani Ani

"Spectacular Garden and Pool, Exquisitely Designed Home, Open to the Garden in Perfect Bali Style"
We spent four nights at Villa Ani Ani and wish it could have been longer. Each room was perfectly designed and decorated in tasteful Bali style. The gardens and outdoor surroundings ensured a thoroughly relaxing atmosphere encouraging us to just lounge around the house and not venture out into the traffic and other challenges of Bali. The pool was big enough to accommodate the whole family and get some exercise; overlooking rice paddies and thus allowing us to escape from the relative chaos and crowds of Bali. The bathrooms were beautiful, spacious. The dining area magnificent, open to pool and garden. While we loved this place, we had a few issues. The household staff did not show up until after 9am, thus for us not in time to prepare our breakfast. (For those who are late risers, I guess it would be fine.) The meals were fine, but not excellent, the menu selection is rather limited. It is also difficult to walk from the house and easily access other restaurants as the road is narrow and there is a lot of traffic. The house is also not close to the beach, and there is nowhere that you can easily walk to from the house, thus no chance for early morning walks, which was disappointing. The household staff was also not that informed about where to go for restaurants or how to get places. We relied on hiring cars/drivers. It would be helpful if there was more practical info available in the house about a range of day trips and how to get to closest beaches by foot etc.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our villa. We are delighted that you appreciated the Bali style and design of the villa and overall enjoyed your stay. We feel that so many of the newer villas have lost the open tropical garden spaces which we love so much about Bali. Our manager Mary is onsite to deal with any issues and questions as our Balinese staff is there at your service but not equipped as a concierge as it is our holiday home. There should be at least one staff there for breakfast so we will look into that. The menu selection of over a dozen Italian dishes and Indonesian dishes we felt was just right as many guests do dine out. There are not many areas in our neighbourhood for walks, if that is a criteria than Ubud would be a better destination or areas further out of the main center where there is less traffic. The closest beach to us is at Kudeta which is a 5 minute taxi ride or 10 minutes to Canggu, we are not listed as beach villa. There is a guest info kit in the villa with a list of all our favourite restaurant recommendations, shops and suggestion for day trips. We normally check with guests prior to arrival whether they wish to hire a car and for days trips we would recommend hiring with a driver. It is also easy to call for a taxi from the villa. Please feel free to email us with any further feedback and we hope you get your wish to stay longer and we will welcome you back with early croissants! Best regards from all of us at Villa Ani Ani

"A sanctuary in Bali's increasing madness"
Villa Ani Ani was our home and party venue for a week, four friends celebrating a big birthday for one of us. We rose early each day to peace, save the quiet talk of people in the rice fields on one side of the compound. We'd have a lazy breakfast in the dining pavilion and plan the day, which usually began with a one hour massage for each of us by the pool. The staff were attentive but discreet,. They helped us organise day trips and cooked when we wanted to eat at home. The food was simple, fresh and very good. 6pm was cocktail hour, and we'd dress in our new halter long dresses and party a bit before heading out to the town. The villa had a great list of places to go. Back late, we'd go for a swim then sleep in comfortable beds. Highly recommended for its location - far enough away from the madding crowd but close enough to sample the madness!

"Relaxing villa and great location"
We arrived in Denpasar and were greeted by the friendly driver who brought us to the Villa. The location is perfectly located just outside trendy seminyak and far enough from chaotic Kuta for peace and quiet. The staff were always helpful, keeping the place tidy and cooking excellent indoensian and italian food. Loved the recommendations for nearby eateries especially the Gelato down the road! One of the best we've had in a long time. The owners also recommended a masseuse, Ibu Sri, who can come to the villa. Not only was it extremely affordable, but honestly one of the best massages we've had. We ended up having about 5 massages by the poolside during our 7 day stay. Hopefully we will be able to return at the end of the year, to escape London's cold winter.
