Crown Cottage is in the centre of Ulverston, a lovely little market town in the Lake District. We are the birthplace of Stan Laurel, and a busy Festival town.

The cottage is brand newly built and furnished to a modern design, complete with fitted kitchen, luxurious beds and plasma TV's. All the comforts of home including free wifi. Our accommodation has been given 4 stars by the AA.

There is also a public car park adjacent for easy parking and access.

We have 2 bar restaurants, The Farmers and The Rose and Crown within a 1 minute walk should you want to dine out..

Situated near the start of the Cumbrian Way, there is fantastic hill and coastal walking/mountain biking right from the doorstep, with Coniston Old Man only a short drive away. South Lakeland is full of wonderful family attractions such as the South Lakeland Zoo, Holker Hall and Grizedale Forrest. Haverthwaite steam railway is a lovely way of visiting Lake windermere - where the ferry can be boarded to Ambleside.

The Cumbria/Lake District

Ulverston is in the Lake District, and has the sea on its doorstep. It has a variety of festivals throughout the year to entertain visitors. The birthplace of Stan Laurel, lots of walks in and around Ulverston. A golf club 7 minutes drive away. The Buddhist Priory same distance. Steam railway 10 minutes drive.

Coniston and Lake Windermere close by to the west and the scenic coastal route and Piel Island (with it's King!) to the east.

Ulverston

Ulverston is a lovely little market town, markets on Thursdays and Saturdays, lots of little shops, bars and restaurants in town.
