The How offers self catering accommdoation for up to 3 people in Patterdale close to Ullswater and Helvellyn. The detached lakeland stone bungalow is enclosed by a small garden, with parking on the driveway. The garden is a magnet for local wildlife with a huge rnage of birds visiting the birdfeeders, as well as Red Squirrels and Badgers. In the autumn Red Deer can be seen opposite on Place Fell.

Inside there are 2 bedrooms, a double and a single. The open place living room/dining room has a wood burning stove, leather sofa and chair, and a Freeview TV and DVD player, with a selection of DVDs, as well as books, maps, local guides and games.

There is a well equipped kitchen with cooker and microwave as well as a dishwasher, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. There is also an outside shed which has a washing machine as well as an additonal large fridge freezer.

The cottage is in a great location - just 5 minutes from Ullswater which is known as England's most beautiful Lake and is ideal for sailing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming. There are also literally hundreds of walks from the door, including Helvellyn, Place Fell, St Sunday Crag and Fairfield.

We welcome one well behaved dog in the cottage. We live next door and our friendly black labrador Morgan will be more than happy to make friends.

Patterdale is located close to Ullswater, The most beautoful lake in England. This part of the Lake District has a range of sttractions from the obvious walking and sailing to visitor attractions such as the Ullswater Steamers, various National Trust properties and much more besides.

In addition Patterdale is well placed for exploring the rest of the Lake District, with Winderemre, Ambleside, Gramsmere and Keswick all within 40 minutes.
