Cottage | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
What sets Margaret House apart from many holiday cottages in Cumbria is the unique marriage between its modern facilities and the elegance of its architectural design. A four-bedroom house, two of which boast en-suite facilities, its lounge is fitted with contemporary appliances such as an LCD TV and hard drive recorder, while the kitchen houses a double electric oven, ceramic hob and dishwasher. It's the design of Margaret House you will fall in love with, though. A solid wood staircase and vaulted ceiling, combined with the look of the wood-burning stove, give the impression of living in times past. The exterior boasts a beautiful garden with lush lawn and patio which is ideal when guests drop by on summer days.

The Cumbria/Lake District
The Lake District conjures up images of magnificent mountains and shimmering lakes and that is exactly what visitors find here. In fact the whole county of Cumbria is home to some of Britain's most beautiful scenery.
This region has been a favourite all year round holiday destination for years and apart from its natural beauty it's also packed with lots of attractions and activities that cater for every kind of holidaymaker, from family holidays to romantic breaks for couples and from those who are looking for lots of activities and sports to those that prefer more gentle country pursuits.
The Lake District National Park lies at the heart of Cumbria and contains well known and much loved holiday destinations such as Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere, here there are lots of charming Lakeland villages to discover and visitor attractions for all the family.
The northern and western lakes have miles of untouched natural rugged beauty and rural villages as well as being home to the historic northern lakes town of Keswick with its many shops, pubs and restaurants; providing a great holiday base.
Other areas to discover include the Eden Valley, Cartmel peninsula, south east Cumbria and the Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall area; all equally beautiful and very handy for day trips into the lakes.
Margaret House is one of a few Cumbrian cottages fortunate enough to be located in the very popular town of Pooley Bridge. Here you will find a good selection of pubs and cafes at which to sample the local fare, as well as some excellent shops. Pooley Bridge itself is situated on the northern shore of Ullswater, which is the Lake District's second largest lake. As such, there is a wealth of gorgeous scenery around for visitors to take in and if you are lucky enough to rent one of the Lake District cottages in this area then walks through the beautiful countryside and water-sports on the lake could become part of you and your family's day-to-day lives.
