The Isle of Skye lies just off the west coast of Scotland and is now connected to the Scottish mainland by a road bridge at the Kyle of Lochalsh. One of the largest of the western isles, Skye provides for an ideal holiday location with plenty of amenities for family holidays yet retaining a stunning beauty and tranquillity for a peaceful break in northern Scotland. This is a great spot for wildlife lovers, whether it's on the land, in the air or on the sea. Keep a look out for elusive otters and dolphins or if you're really lucky you might glimpse a passing golden eagle! It's easy to take to the sea and boat hire is readily available.

The Isle of Skye is a stunning area to explore and there are plenty of different walks to choose from to take in these amazing sights such as beautiful waterfalls or vast countryside. There are also a handful of beaches located within Skye and are perfect for enjoying magnificent views or alternatively, Portree Harbour offers boat trips for visitors to explore the scenery and the local wildlife. Trotternish Trekking is a horse riding centre that provides a great place for the whole family to explore the area. Other outdoor activities include cycling with many different cycle routes, fishing and golf clubs. For those wishing to soak up some history, there are an abundance of Castles to explore such as Dunvegan Castle or Skye's Heritage Centre.
