About the home

This cosy beamed cottage with an inglenook fireplace and an open fire is the perfect place to come and explore the wonderful Snowdonia coastline, whether you are coming to relax and enjoy the beach or perhaps walk or cycle in the hills behind the village. The cottage has two double bedrooms and another with full-length 2'6" wide sturdy bunks. If Y Popty is full, we might have availability in one of our other cottages sleeping 2 , 7 and 12..

Relax in the walled cottage garden, open the gate and enjoy the magnificent views across the ha-ha to the sea!
Downstairs: Beamed sitting/diner with inglenook fireplace and cosy open fire; partially screened-off kitchen.
Upstairs: Two double bedrooms. 3rd bedroom with full-length, 2' 6" sturdy children's bunks; bath/shower & wc.
By the way, Y Popty is pronounced "a pop-tee".
Two further cottages sleep 2 and 7. The latter is wheelchair-friendly.
New this year is Pentre Bach House which sleeps 12-14.

Further details outdoors:
The field is available for football, kite flying etc. and there are tyre swings on a tree next to the willow house. There is also table tennis in the barn with bats and balls. Buckets and spades can be borrowed.

Conditions

A non-refundable deposit of £60/week or part week is requested on booking the cottages and £100 per week on booking Pentre Bach House, with the balance due four weeks before the holiday. Visa, Maestro and Mastercard payments are accepted with no surcharge.

The North Wales / Snowdonia/Gwynedd region

Eryri or the Snowdonia National Park was designated a National park in 1951, the third National Park to be created in England and Wales under the 1949 National Parks and Access to the countryside Act. It is the second largest National park in England and Wales, covering some 2,171 square kilometres (838 square miles) of north west Wales, and including the Carneddau, and Glyderau mountain ranges as well as the Highest mountain in England and Wales (1085m/3560ft)- Yr Wyddfa (the Tomb in Welsh), or Snowdon from which the Park takes its (English) name. The Welsh name Eryri means 'place of the eagles'.

The Tywyn / Llwyngwril area

Llwyngwril is a pretty, uncommercialised village resting on the shores of Cardigan Bay in Southern Snowdonia National Park with easy access to Cader Idris, the nearest mountain of nearly 3,000 ft.
The village offers two well stocked local stores, pub and cafe (serving breakfast, lunch and evening meals by arrangement). There is also a post office . The beach is only a 900 yard walk from Pentre Bach and has a pebble ridge with sand between the rock pools when the tide goes out. Buckets, spades, fishing nets available to borrow.
