About the home

Turunc is a wonderful holiday destination, we are amazed at the number of people who return year after year. It is a traditional Turkish village full of charm and you can choose to do as little or as much as you would like.

The Sunco Twin Apartments are two identical blocks with four apartments in each. Our apartment is spacious, furnished in a modern style and fully air-conditioned. There are two bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities, and an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. The apartment has a small utility room (with washing machine, iron and ironing board), and a separate WC.

The apartment has two balconies, one from the lounge area and one from the bedroom. Outside there is a shared pool with plenty of sun-loungers, tables and chairs.

The apartment has two double bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities. The main bedroom has twin beds with bath/shower, basin and wc facilities.

The second bedroom has twin beds with shower, basin and wc facilities.

The apartment has an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. The lounge has two sofas, one of which is a double sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a gas cooker and fridge freezer.

Externally, the apartments offer a shared pool with plenty of sun-loungers, tables and chairs.

There's no need to reserve your sunbeds here, as there are plenty for everyone.There are areas for true sun-worshippers as well as some nice shady places.

There are some wonderful planting around the property; palms tree and banana plants and some lovely climbing bougainvillea.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Turunc village is located on the southern coast of Turkey on the Bozburun Peninsula. It is in a stunningly beautiful bay, surrounded on one side by pine forested mountains and on the other side by the clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea.

The natural pine honey from this area is one of the many products of this beautiful landscape. The weather is warm and sunny from the beginning of May until the end of October. In high summer the temperatures are hot and perfect for sun worshippers.

The wealth of archaeology in Turkey is abundant with its many Greek, Roman, Lycian, Carian and Ottoman sites. The best known of these is Ephesus (called Efes in Turkey) and boats trips are available to Efes which is usually combined with a visit to the final home of The Virgin Mary.

The Turunc area

The beach in Turunc is a mixture of sand and shingle and has a gentle rake, making it ideal for children. The sea is amazingly clear and Turunc is the proud holder of the Blue Flag Award for maintaining and promoting beach and sea cleanliness.

There are many watersports available along the beach from water-skiing to the banana boat.There is a small harbour in Turunc and it is from here that you can take a variety of fantastic boat trips to explore the beautiful coastline. For instance, there is a wonderful 5 bay trip or a trip to the mud baths and turtle beach.

There are also a variety of other worthwhile trips to experience from a typical Turkish bath to a fun filled Jeep Safari, or even a catamaran trip to Rhodes, which is 45 minutes away. Eating out in Turunc is a pleasure as there are so many restaurants to choose from. Many offer traditional Turkish food such as mezes and kebabs with baklava and Turkish coffee to finish. Prices vary from the cheap and cheerful to the more up market and formal. Locally caught fish is always available on the menu.

The night-life is based around the bars, some of which have dancing until the small hours. The main street of Turunc is closed to traffic in the early evening making it safe and enjoyable for an evening stroll around the many shops.
Marmaris and Icmeler are just a 30 minute bus or boat ride away. These bigger towns have more choice for shopping and bargain hunting amongst the markets. Turunc does have a market every Monday, which is fantastic for picking up some local produce and goods.

We went to the Sunco Twin Apartments last June and had a great family holiday. The apartment is brilliantly located, close but not too close to the beach, bars and restaurants. The apartment is really spacious and comfortable.The kids loved the pool and had lots of space to play. My teenage kids loved Turunc; there's a few lively bars and restaurants that they liked and lots of other wonderfully hospitable ones that my husband and I loved! I felt that Turunc is a very safe place for them to have a little bit of freedom. We went on the 5-bay boat trip which was absolutely fantastic and my husband wants to go back just to do that again. We have been to Turunc a few times now but stayed at Rob and Annette's apartment for the first time last August. It was great, spacious and clean and had everything you needed. The pool was lovely and there were plenty of sunbeds. We arrived at 5am but their representative Dave was there to greet us so that was really nice. He swept and cleaned the pool every day too! We stayed at the Sunco Twin Apartment last May. Great apartment, clean, modern and lots of space for my 4 year old to wander around. It was only a couple of minutes walk to the main street, although there's a grocery shop across the road! Loved Turunc, its a traditional village, lots to see and do and I especially liked the evenings where they close the main street to traffic at 5pm so you can wander around the shops and stop at the bars along the way! Prices are based on the whole apartment per week and not on a per head basis.

If you are staying for two weeks the price is reduced by £50.

A £100 deposit payment is taken at the time of booking with the remaining balance due 6 weeks prior to departure.

A refundable £50 breakage/damage holding deposit is also required at the same time as the final balance is payable. This is then refunded/returned in the week after your holiday, once there has been a satisfactory inspection of the apartment.
