About the home

It is a quiet complex of 16 apartments carefully arranged in three blocks. Some are rented and some are owners' second homes.
Our two apartments are furnished to a high standard , with open plan lounge and dining area and separate fitted kitchen . All have TV and DVD players and a front facing balcony. The balcony has table and chairs and has a lovely view over the pool and garden and out towards to the sea. Groups of 8 people can be catered for within 2 apartments (2 x 2 bed apartments). Apartment 1(Garden Apt.) is situated on the (raised ) ground floor with balcony off the lounge. This has a lovely view over the pool and garden and the hills and olive groves towards the village. It also has a rear (lower) ground floor patio off the kitchen , which sits just below the forest outlook.

Apartment 2 (Panorama Apt.) is above this and has the same front facing balcony from the lounge with a partial sea view.
It also has a rear balcony with views out towards the mountain and forest.
The apartments have two bedrooms , both furnished with wardrobes , drawers etc. One has a double bed and the other has twin beds. There is a family sized bathroom in both apartments and a small utility area which houses the washing machine..

We have an on site manager who can help with any problems that may arise and his wife offers a house cleaning service for a small fee should you require it.
She will also prepare home cooked Turkish meals on request with one day's notice.
A 7 minute walk is all it takes to the main street and the beach.

Our guests vary in their taste of what type of holiday they prefer but most seem to value the tranquil base they can call home. From here you can relax, walk, swim and take up the many choices our area has to offer. We are on hand to help and advise and there are agents in the village offering a broad range of tours and activities, both locally and further afield.

Olive Grove has three blocks but they are arranged so no apartment is overlooked by another. The site, at over one acre, has a spacious feel, with its meadering paths through the gardens and into the forest, its stone wall terraces and well laid out gardens.
It's special feature is the pool and sun terrace which is the centrepiece of the site. The pool is large ( 16 metres long and 10 metres wide) and has a beautiful paved area around it which acts as the sun deck. As well as the usual sunbeds and parasols , there is a wealth of dappled shade to be had from the many verdant banana and oleander trees that surround the swimming pool.
The centre of the village and the beach are a short walk down the hill. The beach is sand and pebble and has a pretty beachwalk lined with rustic bars and restaurants.

Further details

Olive Grove management will provide a standard contract and usually expect 25% of total cost to be paid at the point of booking the holiday. Then we expect the rest to be paid 6 weeks before arrival. On top of this, upon arrival we ask for £100.00 deposit in case of breakages or damage to the property which of course will be refunded if all is well.
Groups are welcome to hire both properties at once.

Guests are welcome to stay longer than the standard one or two week period and a daily fee will be added proportionate to the amount of extra days.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

This part of south west Turkey is famous for its "green mountains" unlike other areas of Turkey and the Greek islands where the mountains become stark and bare in the summer months. In this area there are lush pine forests all over the peaks of the Taurus mountains.

There are many wonderful tours in the nearby area.

The Gokova gulf , (about 45 kilomtetres away ) a 60 kilometre National Park. There are many beautiful bays, islands and mountains that reach 3000 metres. There are various boat tours in this area, one to Cleopatra's island, a tiny island with white sand , with many Roman ruins and an ancient legend about it being a present to her from Marc Anthony.

There are agents in Turunc who will arrange tours to Dalyan,(approx. 90 kilometres away) boat trips that weave their way lazily through the reed beds, down to the sea , with ancient burial tombs carved in the rocks above and arriving at the famous Giant Turtle beach.

Further afield there are tours to Ephesus, one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world, a once massive city and port built by Alexander the Great.

Pammukale (Cotton Castle) is truly a sight to behold. Huge white terraces of calcium pools cling to the hillside - the result of the hot springs' constant flow. Visit the local hotel for lunch then dive into their hot pool and find part of an ancient city beneath your feet!

If you don't want to go on long trips try Datca a picturesque town and little harbour , with an quaint old town - Eski Datca, fabulous little Turkish food cafes at wonderfully cheap prices . It is about 60 kilometres from Marmaris with a breathtaking road up and over the mountains and when you get to the highest peak you can see the Aegean sea on one side and the Mediterranean sea on the other. Regular bus service to and from Marmaris. Ask in the village whether they do day trips.

The Turunc area

Locally there are boat trips everyday to other lovely bays, where beach BBQs are included in the price. Kumlubuk, Ciftlik all offer lovely beaches and unspoilt charm.

Some of the restaurants and hotels have a Turkish night with orchestras, belly dancers and folklore dancers.

There are hourly taxi boats and mini buses to the main town of Marmaris. Our guests love to go shopping there in the Grand Bazaar where fine carpets, gold and silver , leather goods and a million souvenirs are on sale!
While you are there take a stroll around the picturesque old town and the little castle, the Harbour and the Marina. If you want to let your hair down go to Bar Street, where the established Turkish bars with live music still thrive alongside the clamour and boom of the many bars and discos there. Some though just prefer to get dressed "to kill" and dine in the fine Harbour restaurants and watch the world go round.

Nearer to Turunc you can visit Icmeler (pronounced Ichmeylair) a small but busy resort 2 bays away where there is every type of water sport available including para-sailing, a pleasant if somewhat crowded beach but with beautiful views across the Marmaris Bay and a number of large hotels who have lovely bars and restaurants in luxurious gardens.

Major budget airlines do " fly only" tickets to Dalaman Airport in Turkey - (Easyjet: Fly Thomas Cook; Thomsons: Monarch) from all major city airports in UK. Pegasus do flights from Stansted via Istanbul (1 hour wait) to Dalaman
Fly only tickets can be purchased at any agents in UK and Ireland or order online.
Turunc is approx. 140 kilometres from the airport and we can arrange transfers from Dalaman Airport directly to Olive Grove at an extra cost of approx. 70/80 GBP per four people with the same service and cost on return. Alternatively you may wish to hire your own car for your holiday and we would be happy to advise you upon your booking.
