The Hideaway is privately situated in the grounds of a country house in the heart of Kent, midway between the delightful villages of Lamberhurst, Horsemonden and Brenchley. For those wanting a quiet retreat the gardens offer a haven away from the bustle of every day life. There is no need to go far to experience outstanding food with Lamberhurst offering several superb pubs, restaurants and the famous vineyard. Also within Lamberhurst are Scotney Castle, Bedgbury Pinetum and Bewl Reservoir. All of which provide stunning walking and other leisure activities such as golf, cycling, sailing and windsurfing.

With all of this literally on your door step there is no need to go far, however for those wishing to tour and explore further a field they will not be disappointed. The famous Spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells in only 7 miles away offering excellent shopping and tourist attractions.

Kent is not called the 'Garden of England' without good reason and visitors to this part of England will not be disappointed. There are orchards, oast houses and quaint pubs in abundance and the Hideaway is located in the heart of all of this. Kent is a great base for those wishing to visit areas of historical interest with Bodiam Castle, Ightam Mote, Hever Castle, Penshurst Place, Scotney Castle and Dover Castle.

The beautiful city of Canterbury is very popular with our guests with its stunning Cathedral, Chaucers Canterbury Tale and quaint shops. For those who like to shop Kent is also the home to Europe's largest shopping centre at Bluewater. The Kent and Sussex coast is not far away with the Cinque Port of Rye and then along to Brighton and Eastbourne within the hour.

The Tunbridge Wells / Lamberhurst area

Lamberhurst itself offers several superb pubs, restaurants and the famous vineyard. Also within Lamberhurst are Scotney Castle, Bedgbury Pinetum and Bewl Reservior. All of which provide stunning walks and other leisure activities.

We are situated 20 minutes from Tunbridge Wells on the outskirts of a small village called Lamberhurst. Lamberhurst is directly off the A21 which can be easily accessed from both the M20 and M25. Gatwick airport is a conveniant 45 minutes drive and Heathrow airport only one and a half hours.

If you are arriving by train the nearest station is Paddock Wood which has main line connections to London Charring Cross within the hour. The nearest Ferry can be found in Dover which is only one hour away. Euro Tunnel in Folkstone also only one hour.
