Home description
Enchantingly homely throughout the entrance hall gives access to a spacious yet cosy living room, a dining room and a well equipped kitchen area. Upstairs there is a charming double bedroom with an impressive French style bed, a twin bedroom and a family bathroom with shower over. A pretty enclosed cottage garden leads from the kitchen with a sunny patio area to sit with a glass of something cold and dreamily picture Thomas as he passes by in the background with his "toot toot".

The South East England / Kent region
South East England is a region rich in experiences. It has something to offer every age group and every traveller. Awash with History and Heritage and an abundance of castles, gardens, museums, cathedrals and country houses set amid stunning coastline, picturesque market towns and traditional English villages. Kent is not only the Garden of England but also its oldest county. Whether you want to go back to school with Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, explore the Historic Dockyard at Chatham, wander through picturesque castles and gardens or spend your holiday taking in Kent's rolling hills and coastlines on foot, bicyle or horseback, there is an abundance of things to do and see to suit any taste and budget.
Tunbridge Wells area
As the name suggests this delightful former railway workers cottage does have a train track at the bottom of the garden BUT don’t panic it’s not the 200mph Eurostar! On high days and holidays just the gentle chugging of retored steam trains can be heard, amongst them Thomas the Tank and friends, who run along the The Spa Valley Railway through picturesque Kentish Weald countryside between the town of Royal Tunbridge Wells and the village of Groombridge.
Ideally situated for the pretty colonnaded walkway known as the Pantiles, home to a fascinating variety of small specialist shops, antique emporiums, open-air cafés, restaurants and bars, the cottage is a perfect location for those looking for town living but distanced from the main hustle and bustle. Royal Tunbridge Wells has successfully blended old and new incorporating modern developments like the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre without sacrificing its past. Present day visitors can still drink the water from the Chalybeate Spring, whilst enjoying an architectural heritage that illustrates every period of the towns colourful history. Open spaces too contribute to towns unique landscape, ranging from the ancient Commons with curious rock outcrops to the recently restored mid-Victorian splendour of Dunorlan Park. The years have seen many changes, but Tunbridge Wells still retains the special character described in its first guidebooks in the 1700s a place where town and country are happily blended.
