The South East England / Kent region

Because of its abundance of orchards and hop gardens, Kent is widely known as "The Garden of England" – a name often applied when marketing the county or its produce, although other regions have tried to lay claim to the title.[1][2] Major industries in the north-west of Kent have included cement, papermaking, and aircraft construction, but these are now in decline. Large parts of Kent are within the London commuter belt. South and East Kent rely on tourism and agriculture. Coal mining has also played its part in Kent's industrial heritage.
The Tunbridge Wells area
There are more stately homes, castles and gardens in Kent and the surrounding area than in any other part of the UK. Some of the best examples of things to do in the Tunbridge Wells area, range from a wide selection of outdoor actvities, such as walking, sailing, mountain biking, windsurfing and climbing, to the unique Seven Wonders of the Weald - seven fascinating places to go all within 10 minutes drive of eachother and just 20 minutes from Royal Tunbridge Wells. Several unusual churches of interest in the area and a good concentration of vineyards and wineries add to the variety of things to see and do in the Tunbridge Wells area. The historic sites of The Pantiles and the Chalybeate Spring which marked the beginning of Tunbridge Wells are also not to be missed.
