The Offaly/County Laois region
Tullamore is the capital town of Offaly and is the powerhouse of the county with Tullamore networked to Birr, Clara, Edenderry, Ferbane and surrounding towns. The next biggest towns in the Midlands are Athlone, Mullingar and Portlaoise, which are half an hour drive away. Dublin, Longford, Galway, Moneygall, Kilkenny, Cashel, Carlow are around an hours drive.
This property is 3 miles outside the village of Blue Ball, 5 miles from Tullamore the county town of Offaly. It is literally in the heart of Ireland. Situated on a working farm, retaining old irish charm, it evokes memories from the time of old storytelling and music. The location is convenient for the Slieve Bloom Mountains, and close by there are 4 golf clubs, angling, Clara Bog, Birr Castle, and the monastic site of Clonmacnoise. Banagher which is 17 miles away is home to river cruising, salmon and trout fishing, with lots of good walks and bird watching in the area.
Tullamore is the most central town in Ireland, just 12km south off the M6 Motorway, half way between Dublin and Galway.
