Welcome to peaceful Glendree,Co. Clare

Studio | No Bedrooms | sleeps 3

Key Info
  • Beach / lakeside relaxation
  • Great for children of all ages 5
  • Some pets are welcome - please contact the owner

'Druid Cottage' is named after the area where it is situated, Glendree, which means 'Glen of the Druids'. This natural stone cottage has been recently renovated and is located on a scenic hillside near 45minutes from Shannon, Galway, Limerick and only a one hour drive to the spectacular Atlantic coast.

The cottage is beside my home, where I also work in my studio designing and creating fine knitwear which is inspired by the surrounding landscape and very soft to the touch. Guests at 'Druids Cottage' can enjoy 15% off any purchase of Saolré knit design.

I respect others space and although you will seldom see me, you have the comfort of knowing that you are not totally alone,on a quiet rural hillside!

This self-catering cottage is Open plan with a loft space bedroom, the bed is a very comfortable mattress on the floor of the loft, (as a bed would be too high) and downstairs there is an extra single bed. If you would like another pull out mattress/bed downstairs please ask and it can be arranged. The shower / toilet are in a separate room, the kitchen is in the main room and you can enjoy fresh natural spring water om tap. The heating is solid fuel with the option of an electric heater.

There are many scenic walks, music, horse riding, fishing , golf and local pubs to enjoy, in the nearby area around Glendree.

If you choose to come without a car I will collect and deliver to Shannon airport for half the price of a local Taxi, also shopping and fuel trips can be arranged.

"Clean, quiet cottage in East Clare"

This one-bedroom cottage was the perfect place to rest, read, paint, and think about writing that novel! It consists of an open living room, bathroom, and small kitchen, with a very comfortable bed atop a loft. Our host was totally welcoming, flexible, and neighborly (with her main house located right next to the cottage). This was a visit to the real Ireland, with farm yard sounds and wild flowers outside the door. An easy drive to Loch Derg, Ennis, and villages of East Clare, known for the best traditional music in Ireland.

"The pure Irish experience"

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful stone cottage very much. The home is decorated with much love to detail, and we felt very comfortable right from the beginning. It is located in a stunning landscape about 15 mins by car from Tulla. You can do day trips to the Burren and Connemara National Parks but the neighborhood is worth seeing as well!
