Ideal location if you want to stay in a traditional French village close to Carcassone environs. The village offers all amenities, and the Gite is within meters of these, such as supermarket, bakery and butcher. There is excellent wine tasting within walking distance. The locals are friendly and accommodating. If you like walking or cycling it is a paradise, the landscape is rugged and stunning. |
Guestbook for Tuchan
A taste of the real France, spacious & comfortable accommodation, lovely village, great wine and some great restaurants. I can't wait to return in October with more of my friends! Margaret Wall, Cheshire
I can't believe that in January we could travel 45 mins and have glass of wine overlooking the med and then the next day travel 1.30 to have a glass of wine at the top of the Ski slopes -amazing what a contrast -what a place !Lots to do even in winter. The McCarthy family, Manchester
We had a great experience in Tuchan! We really enjoyed the French village life. We did enjoy meeting Eva, Marco (and baby) and were very happy to purchase a painting (from Marco) of one of your cathar castles, We went to a festival in Cucugnan; the wine festival in Tuchan (with a great evening concert!) dinner at the restaurant in Paziols was awesome, we went there twice and met the chef "Patrick" who was very kind to us and told us where to go when we got to Paris. The waiter was also incredibly sweet. You should definitely check it out. . We went to Sunday mass in Durban and happened to spend time with two wonderful families from Ireland (with second homes in Durban). We had a lovely time in Carcassonne. We also had a fabulous time at Collioure, Canet Plage and Port Leucate. We went to the Mont Tauch wine cave a few times and bought boxed wine to bring home as souvenirs. We swam at your village pool; ate at the Hostel restaurant (lovely owners) and had lunch at the campsite pool/restaurant. We visited the boulangerie daily! My daughter played in the park behind the school and my mom and I took one of the lovely walks that you recommended. K Ascione & family New York
A lovely house and what a wonderful setting. Tastefully restored, retaining charcacter of former times. Spotlessly clean . M Lohan, Dublin, Ireland
Thanks! We had a lazy lovely holiday and made use of the pools every day - the boys fave part! Great wine, we had a local bottle every day, loved the muscat. The house was really comfy and had everything we needed. S Holloway and family Suffolk.
Loved the house. So many places to see and things to do. Enjoyed all the local restaurants especially Relais d'agulair - the views were fantastic , food excellent and good service.- hence why we have re booked for June ,Mr and Mrs Mcdonald- Smith, Warrington
The landscape around here is spectacular with gorges and castles and the Pyrenees not far away. The lovely Collioure is a short drive away down on the coast, with endless miles of sandy beach stretching away from Perpignan. We would recommend this region over Provence... an unspoiled taste of southern France.
The house itself is spacious and prettily decorated, making the most of its simple and traditional appeal, and with comfortable bathroom and efficient kitchen. There's Sky TV if you're feeling homesick. Jackie and Andy have made a comfortable hideaway here and provided lots of local information about what there is to enjoy.
We found it a great place to get away and relax. S Moran Hay on Wye, Wales
