Gite | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
La Cave originally was the village wine co-operative and has been beautifully converted into a 3 bedroom gite with a huge private terrace garden and pool. The tasteful conversion has retained many features of the original Cave and combined them with a fresh modern fully equipped and air-conditioned spacious apartment.
Set at the end of a quiet village snuggled into the hills of the High Corbieres, La Cave is a perfect base to relax and explore one of the least populated areas of the Languedoc. Breath taking gorges, beautiful towns and villages, and the Cathar Castles makes the High Corbieres a paradise for walkers, cyclists, climbers, and horse-riders as well those who wish to explore area from the Mediterranean coast, the cities of Carcassonne and Perpignan to the foothills of the Pyrenees. The Spring and Autumn blankets of rare flowers, and summertime aromatic herbs of the garrigue will thrill any nature lover, the large raptors and coastal salt lagoons are a bird watchers delight.

This is a little gem! Lovely and peaceful, located in a very small village where a fresh bread van comes daily, absolute tranquility. A car is a must and you need to buy supplies before driving to the gite as there is no shop locally but once done you can just relax in the fabulous surroundings. The accommodation is very well equipped, clean and of very high standard. Lin and John are lovely and very helpful. We had extremely good /hot weather so having the air conditioning was heaven on the odd evening when you just needed a bit of cool air! We visited the beach at Torrielle (about an 1.5hr away) and also visited Les Cascades which were stunning. You won't be disappointed and will want to return again and again.

"Fantastic holiday, beautiful scenery and excellent gite"
Our family (including our 2 teenage and 12 year old daughters) had a very relaxing holiday. John and Lin, the owners made us very welcome on our arrival and we knew they were nearby if we needed anything. The recent conversion of the gite from the old wine co-operative has been very tastefully done with modern appliances for a very comfortable stay. The secluded outdoor area with decking and pool was stunning with beautiful planters brimming with colour. The girls enjoyed the pool very much.
The Aude region is very picturesque with beautiful unspoilt villages amongst the vineyards - it was like taking a step back in time.
