Home description
From the crisp white walls with curved ‘Santorini’ style edges to reflect the heat and keep the house cool, the carefully chosen palette of blue furnishings and accessories, to the private pool set at the edge of the terrace to blend into the sea, Oceane has a luxurious beach house feel to it. Built to the owners, Beatrice and Olivier’s, specific design and to an extremely high standard, Villa Oceane combines comfort and glamour with the most stunning views.
Located in the quiet, unspoilt village of Tsivaras, you are just a five minute drive away from the busier beach town of Kalives with many amenities and wide sandy beaches. The rural track leading to the villa ends in a fairly steep gradient at the car park set to the side of the house. But as you enter this beautiful villa you will completely appreciate it’s elevated position as you catch your first glimpse of the unrivalled, panoramic views before you.

The Crete region
The small, quiet and unspoilt village of Tsivaras has few local amenities, a small mini market and an olive oil press. However, the Villa is ideally placed between the beaches of Almirida and Kalives and the working town of Vamos.
Just minutes by car to the lovely village of Almirida which is built around a crescent shaped sandy beach. The beach here is clear, shallow and safe, perfect for children or less confident swimmers. Lining the beach are a good selection of taverns, cafes and shops and a water sports centre which rents out non-motorised equipment such as kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans.
Tsivaras area
Kalives, also a few minutes drive away, has a longer, wider stretch of sandy beach with deeper waters and slightly more current than Almyrida. A wider selection of shops including clothes, shoes, jewellers and the usual tourist items will suit the shoppers amongst you. There are also a wider selection of taverna’s and cafes. Kalives having a more lively air about it than the laid back Almyrida.
For a truly working Greek town, visit Vamos which has the local council offices, post office, health centre, main school and bus station and some very good, traditional, vine-shaded places to eat in the evening if you wish to escape the hubbub of the beach resorts.
For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 30 minutes away by car, the harbour being described as the St.Tropez of Crete.
