About the home

2 The Court is a lovely 250 year old mid terrace cottage recently renovated to offer stylish and comfortable accommodation, ideal for both couples and families. Located on Fore Street, within the bi-passed village of Probus the cottage is in easy walking distance of a farm shop, convenience shops, two restaurants and a pub. The garden, found to the front of the cottage is south facing and for those of you who can't leave your work at home we've installed free wifi.

Probus is centrally located in Cornwall near Truro and is an ideal location for exploring the famous gardens of the county including Eden, Heligan and Trelisick. North and South coastlines are within easy reach.

Famous for its beautiful beaches, mild climate and amazing gardens Cornwall is a must see for any visitor to the UK. Explore the landscape that inspired Daphne Du Maurier write 'Rebecca' and Winston Graham's 'Poldark' series.

The Truro / Probus area

The quiet village of Probus lies just 6 miles east of the county town of Truro, which boasts Cornwall's only cathedral; great shopping from a range of independent shops; twice weekly farmers' markets; a variety of restaurants; a cinema and great theatre at 'The Hall for Cornwall'. The famous gardens of the Trewithen estate are located just on the edge of the village, with the romantic 'Lost Gardens of Heligan' approximately 25mins away and The Eden Project only ten minutes further.
Should you find the prospect of the ups and downs of the rugged coastal path a little too adventurous then, closer to home, you will find the peaceful Tresillian River within a five minute drive of the cottage. Not only does it provide a tranquil opportunity for a relaxing family walk ,but due to its tidal nature, it offers great bird watching opportunities too.
A variety of entertainment can be found for children of all ages within a radius of approximately 30 minutes driving time. Dairyland, near Newquay, offers a great chance to get up close to some very cute farm animals - including milking the cows and bottle feeding the lambs at the right time of the year! Perhaps the more daring might prefer the thrill of the Demon Drop at Creally's Great Adventure Park or Go-Karting at the Holywell Bay Fun Park? If that doesn't tempt you then there's always the Blue Reef Aquarium at Newquay; hiring wet suits and body boards at Perranporth; Newquay zoo; the steam railway; going underground to travel back in time in the mines; exploring fantastic beaches such as Pendower and, just in case that isn't enough to keep you busy, we'll leave you with a full pack of detailed tourist information and maps to help you make the most of your stay.

“Home from home” We stayed here for 2 weeks whilst waiting to move into our own house which was still being built. 2, The Court really was 'home from home' for our family. It had everything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Many thanks.

“Great base from which to explore” Having already stayed at Spring Cottage B&B we new the self catering cottage would be of an equally high standard and it most certainly was. Charming, light, comfortable and well equipped and spotlessly clean. We used it to explore the area: Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, (countless other gardens too) Fowey, Gorran Harbour, St Austell and Truro. All within less than an hours drive from the cottage. Thanks Chris & David for creating such a gem.

“Cornish Heavenly Cottage” OChris & David not only have the wonderful B&B but they also have a 3 bed Cornish Cottage just up the road in Probus Village. It is beautifully modernised with an eclectic but crisp modern feel snuggled in all the wonderful olde worlde period cottage features including a log burning stove, a Rayburn cooker called Bertha - don't worry there is a modern electric oven as well. Wood floors, modern bathroom, crisp white bed linen and a beautifully landscaped cottage garden. The cottage is fully furnished down to everything in the kitchen you could want - we baked bread in Bertha and proved the bread in the original bread oven - well you have too use all the facilities when you stay here! This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the cottage and when you walk in it takes your breath away. You will not be disappointed - trust me! Chris even left a cream tea with hand made scones for us on our arrival and milk in the fridge. It's the eye for detail and the will to make every visitor relaxed and happy from the moment they open the door. Thank you Chris for your wonderful hospitality - the only problem is whether to stay in the cottage or the B&B next time??!!! Dilemma - either way it will be utterly fabulous!

“Beautiful well maintained cottage.” A fantastic time was had by all during our stay at this cottage. The standard of cleanliness was amazing, and everything we needed was there. The cream tea that was provided for us upon arrival was most welcome after a 7 hour journey in traffic with 2boys! I would recommend this property to anyone, look forward to returning soon.
