Villa Palmier is situated directly on the beach in Trou d'Eau Douce on the east coast of Mauritius. The villa is simple yet cosy and well equipped with all domestic appliances. It has proven to be very popular with our guests during our ownership, as it is booked for most of the year. It has its own large private tropical garden (half an acre) in an idyllic setting with an excellent views across the bay. The internationally renowned luxury resort, 'Le Touessrok, is located on the otherside of the bay. This is ideal if you are looking to get away from it all in a tropical paradise.

The East Coast region

The area is blessed with natural beauty, with unspoilt beaches and many deserted beaches. This is evident by the presence of very exclusive resorts in the area, particular popular with celebrities, such as 'Le Touessrok' and 'St. Géran' and 'Le Prince Maurice'. The east coast is completely unlike other tourist areas it boast local charm and relaxation, away from the built up areas and mass tourism such as Grand bay and Flic en Flac. Ile aux Cerfs, an island off of the east coast, is a must to any visitor of Mauritius.

The main town in the area is Centre de Flacq (20 mins away by car), where you will find your typical Mauritian town with all its amenities. Closer still is the smaller town of Bel Air (10 mins), which is a small town with most amenities.

Trou D'eau Douce area

Villa Palmier sits beautifully on the Trou d'Eau Douce Bay, offering breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. It does not take very long to settle into the rhythm of life in Trou d'Eau Douce. Translated literally, the name of the village means "sweet water hole". Trou d'Eau Douce has maintained the charm of the old Mauritius, life is very relaxed here and the people are friendly. Early birds will love the stunning sunrise over the bay.

There are restaurants of local charm and character in the village, many of which serving fresh fish caught by the village's fishermen. You also have the option of dining at one of the hotels' restaurants nearby, who welcome reservations from outside guests for lunch and dinner.

The village is opposite of the island of ' Ile aux Cerfs', which is a small boat ride away. There you will find many watersport activities and day activities. If you just want to relax, just sit back on one of the many empty beaches,or enjoy a spot of lunch at its restaurant. We can arrange for a boat to pick you up at the villa to take you to do most watersports, including deep sea fishing. Golf lovers will marvel at the chance to play at any of the 3 courses in the area including a breathtaking championship course on the island of Ile Aux Cerfs.

Further details indoors:
The villa itself is a bungalow which contains 2 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 contains a double bed and b/room 2 has 2 single beds. Due to demand, a double bed has tastefully been placed in the corner of the lounge area. . The villa can sleep up to 6 adults and one baby (in a cot provided). All rooms including the kitchen and shower room are fully equipped.

Maid service comes as standard although extra duties such as , cooking, baby-sitting and shopping is available if required, at extra costs. Free Laundry facities on site provided by the maid . We are based in Mauritius and the UK, so we can provide assistance as and when required.

Further details outdoors:
The villa is set on half an acre of land and is a minute's walk from the village, where you will find local amenities. A swimming pool with deck chairs at your disposal. There are also 2 outdoor eating areas and a Hammock.

A burglar alarm with monitoring service is fitted for your safety.

PAYMENT TERMS:

Please note that a group of 3 is charged as a group of 4, and 5 as a group of 6. We request that our guests pay a deposit of 25% of the total amount when booking, which is non refundable. The balance to be settled by 30 days prior to arrival.

Via bank to bank transfer. Details will be forwarded by owner.

Off peak season: Please note that the east coast of Mauritius can be windy during June to August, hence a reduction in the rental rates.

Xmas and New year Period: The rates above do not apply between 15/12 and the 07/01. Prices are available on application only.

Guestbook for Villa palmier

Staying at Le Palmier was our 10th visit to Mauritius, and our most enjoyable. So often in hotels one rarely takes the opportunity to experience the real Mauritius and its wonderfully warm people. By staying at Le Palmier we were able to do this and it was a wonderful experience. The hammoc with a view over the bay was my most favourite spot and the children really enjoyed snorkeling right outside the house. Overall a wonderful venue and a fabtastic holiday. Thanks!

We would like to thank Mr Makey for renting Le Palmier to us . We had a really wonderful holiday .Our first in Mauritius and hopefully not our last. le Palmier is in the most wonderful setting and has a lovely garden . Sylvie ,the maid was very courtious and helpful to us . We enjoyed the meals Sylvie cooked for us. We would not hesitate to recomend Le Palmier to any of our friends and family .You will not be dissapointed if you book this villa ,we returned from our holiday refreshed and relaxed a trully wonderful holiday thank you.

We have just returned from our holiday in mauritius . For the last few years we have booked villas via the internet. Although you can see pictures before you book it is always worrying (especially when you have young children) as pictures can sometimes be misleading and decriptions exagerated, however this time the pictures and description were only misleading because they didn't start to do justice to the grounds and setting of Le Palmier. When we arrived ,t we walked through our garden to the beach. It was 7 0'clock in the morning, already glouriously hot and the view and setting took our breath away. It was like stepping in to a travel brochure. It was wonderful waking up in the morning and having the enviable decision of where to swim, the beach or the pool. it was a wonderful holiday and our only regret was that we hadn't booked for 3 or 4 weeks instead of the usual 2. We will return to Le Palmier and would like to tell anyone reading this, who is thinking of booking this villa to go ahead, you will not be dissapointed and i'll be very jealous!

Nous avons passez de merveilleux moments lors de notre séjour dans votre villa qui est
une pure merveille pour les yeux et le repos. Dès l'ouverture de la barrière lencantement commence !
Parfaitement située sur la côte avec une magnifique vue sur l'ile de l'Est juste en face
et sur la montagne découpée au loin. Le grand jardin avec une piscine qui donne
directement sur la plage est une merveille on peut dire que c'est mieux que les photos
présentent sur le site qui ne sont pourtant belles.
La maison est parfaitement fonctionnelle et à 5 personnes sur 6 possibles nous étions à l'aise
Mais le mieux encore pour apprécier cet endroit c'est encore d'y séjourner .
Assurément nous recommanderons sans hésitation cet endoit à nos amis et connaissances.
qui ne seront pas déçus ! Merci aussi à Sylvie qui est qui nous a préparé de bons plats maurciens.
