The Calabria region
Calabria is situated in the very South of Italy, which is authentic and mysterious, with its limestone cliffs, endless olive groves, forests and wild mountain landscapes, dazzling stretches of coast with white sandy beaches and a unique cultural ambience with culinary traditions and religious ceremonies very different from the rest of Italy.
You'll be captivated by the atmosphere, the wild nature, the magic sunsets, the friendly locals, and the autentic Mediterranean cuisine.
Tropea is possibly the most charming town in Calabria. The land, the sky and the sea combine to build up a harmonious whole rich in charming, unexpected views flooded by ever-bright sunshine. With wondering eyes, the visitor beholds myriads of hues glittering in the clear seawater washing the shores of small bays or clashing against steep cliffs. And the smaller and the lonelier the village, the homelier he will feel, and the broader the view of the vast free sea he will command from it.
Amidst this hilly countryside and coastal stretches, Tropea rises on a solitary rock jutting out into the sea, a city wich at every sunrise seems to awaken ever more beautiful to the mild murmuring sounds or stormy roaring of the sea, as lovely and enchanting as the goodness Venus featured in the famous bas-relief in the Trono Ludovisi.
Tropea, situed halfway between Pizzo and Nicotera, is the very prime jewel of this vast, magnificent natural scenery and sums up itself all of the multifarious charms of the whole region.

"Lägenheten är centralt belägen i gamla stan i Tropea!"
Jätte charmig öppen lägenhet i gamla delen av Tropea med gångavstånd till havet och baden, tänk dock på att man får gå i ett hundratal trappor innan man når till havet och sedan kanske man g… More

"Six Weeks I will Never Forget"
My sister and I spent six weeks in this magnificent villa. Pre-arrangements made with Prof. Meyer were perfect. We were met at the airport and taken to our favorite town. We had many visitors and ev… More

Tropea is a beautiful old town filled with antique houses, old Palazzi, shops and great fish restaurants! We were six people and felt very comfortable in this restored palazzo. Great terrace and ample living space. The bedrooms were on the small side but each one had a panoramic terrace. Cheers, B. Mueller

The 3 bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment was absolutely perfect. It was extremely clean and spacious. The kitchen and dining area were large and easily accommodated 5 of us. Each bedroom had its own terrace, and a very large terrace was off of the common area by the dining room. It was awesome to watch the fireworks for the celebration of Madonna. The location of the apartment could not have been better. Right in the heart of the piazza. Every morning and every night we would have capucino at the corner cafe. We did quite a lot of shopping, and of course, the beach was only 10 minutes away. We also did sightseeing by train, which was only 12 minutes walk. We bought fresh meat and fish and fruits and vegetables at the farmer''s market. Renting a car would have been so inconvenient.
Sabina, many thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful apartment. It was more like a villa and had every convenience possible. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

"Great location, but could benefit from more attention"
Our stay (party of 5) in Tropea and in this apartment was overall good. Our checkin with Louise was flawless, very curtious and helpful, especially with her meeting us at the train station and guiding… More
Firstly I'm glad you enjoyed the location and the various terraces of our flat. But I'm really sorry you didn't contact me personally about the questions you had about the bathroom and our sofa. It's a historical piece (as you can find in Gattopardo movie!) and it's exactly in the style of the cultural environment of Tropea and of its antiques buildings from the Aristocratic Milieu of the 18th Century. I'm surprised you didn't use the real couch/sofa of the Living room where's plenty of space to stay.
For what concerns the bedrooms: they are small, but also very cosy and they all have their own terrace and maybe you didn't see that in the entrance there's a huge wardrobe for clothes, baggages and all kind of things you better prefer not to have in bedroom. The two bathrooms are new, I can't imagine why there was this problem.
We rent that flat (and also other 3 flats) since 20 years and my family and me stay there every summer for 2 month. It's a very personal flat with a lot of atmosphere and it is not a standard flat as you maybe expected. But the photos and the description on the advert are very honest and up to now all our guests did appreciate exactly the atmosphere, the furniture, the huge living room with fireplace (we have often guest in Winter as well), all the terraces and obviously the very central location.
