About the home

The apartment is part of the Marasusa complex which includes a large pool, jacuzzi and kids pool, a bar and extensive gardens.

The nearby town of Tropea is an example of a beautiful historic traditional town with cobbled streets, lots of outdoor cafes and restaurants. At the end of the main street is an incredible cliff edge overlooking the beautiful white sandy beach and turquoise seas down below. Check out also the ancient church towards the southern end of the beach.

The private 50m2 terrace is the focal point of the apartment with stunning 180 degree views overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Great views of the town of Tropea, the active volcano of Stromboli in the distance and gorgeous sunsets.

The top floor apartment contains a combined lounge/kitchen area connecting to the large terrace and balcony. There is one double bedroom and a second bedroom which contains twin beds. The lounge has a leather sofa-bed which sleeps a further two people plus a dining table and leather chairs for indoor use. Every room has sea views and air-conditioning.

The Southern Italy / Calabria region

The region is surrounded by beautiful beaches and vast mountain ranges providing great diversity throughout the peninsula.

The area basks in sun much of the year round with summer temperatures often in the 30 - 40C range. This is subtly complemented by the presence of a cooling coastal breeze. The warm temperatures and extended summer season mean this is an area that can be enjoyed much of the year round.

The Tropea / Parghelia area

Tropea is quite simply a beautiful Italian town set on the west coast of Italy's southern most region. The town is regarded as one of the most picturesque in the region due to it's stunning scenery, marina and white sandy beaches. The unspoilt town is also host to a wide selection of restaurants, bars and cafes making it the perfect location to soak up the Italian way of life.

There is a coastal train service that will take you to other resorts and in the summer there are ferries to Sicily and the Aeolian Islands - including Stromboli.

Within touching distance of Parghelia are a vast number of mountains that can be visited by car. There are a number of other coastal beauty spots close by but Tropea leads the way.

Scuba diving and fishing are both available to do through established companies on the Tropea beach front, as well as pedlo hire if you want to explore the bay from a different perspective.

“A Great Place!” We stayed at the property for 10 days in July and had a great time. The property itself has the best position on the Marasusa complex with an enormous terrace ideal for Breakfast/brunch or simply for sunbathing. The modern property contains everything that you may require for a great and relaxing holiday. The Marasusa complex is lovely and is situated above Tropea and is just a 5-10 minute drive into the Town, The views from Marasusa are truly fabulous and overlooks the sea, harbour and town. We found it an ideal contrast to return to the peace and quiet of Marasusa from the evening hustle and bustle of Tropea. Tropea itself is absolutely wonderful with a lovely beach, excellent restaurants at moderate prices and a night life that is buzzing until the early hours of the morning. We would have no hesitation in reccommending the property to anybody and we shall be returning in the near future!

“Amazing,we loved it so much we went back” We had an amazing holiday in 2009 and returned again in July 2011.The apartment is lovely with views that are breath taking. Tropea its self is very quaint with lots of restaurant, coffee shops and ice cream parlours. We went to the island of Stomboli and saw the volcano erupting in the evening,this is worth a trip, our teenagers enjoyed this. We drove to Sisily and saw mount Etena which is along drive but was also worth the trip. For a chilled out day we hired a motor boat and sailed around the beautiful bays for half a day,we took pizza and wine and swam in the clear waters. The area surrounding the apartment is tranquil and relaxing,I cant wait to return.

Guestbook for Marasusa

Hi Dave, we had a great time and really enjoyed staying in your accommodation. The view from the patio is timeless and it was lovely to walk into a wall of cold when needed.

The weather was superb whilst we were there, not even a spot of rain or a single cloudy day (in fact the last 5 days were a bit too hot for me but wife and kids didn't mind). We went to Stromboli on the monday and it is a trip that is well worth the money...as I'd been overheating I really enjoyed the boat trip and we had some good views of eruptions both day and night.

Our favourite restaurant was in the centre of Tropea..."El Sol"....very good food with a nice sea breeze as we dined yards away from the cliff edge.

Anyway, it is rare for me to visit a resort/accommodation/restauarant more than once as I love change, but I think sometime in the next year or so we will definitely return to your accommodation for a week at half term (October or April/May I think).
