Tropea is rightfully described as the jewel of Calabria and our apartment is ideally situated to enjoy all that Tropea offers. Superb beaches, an ancient centre, dramatic scenery, excellent restaurants, traditional shops and regular street festivals combine to make a holiday in tropea unforgettable.
Our apartment is spacious, has airconditioning in every room ( a must in high summer ), is furnished and equipped to a high standard and has a luxurious kitchen for those who wish to take some time out to cook. The apartment was completely refurbished in Spring 2008 and is furnished to a high standard.

The Southern Italy / Calabria region
Tropea is a pretty seaside resort town with dramatic scenery and many good beaches. Many films an TV series have been made in Tropea, and the local beauty spots such as Capo Vaticano.
Winters are mild with temperatures rarely dropping below 10 C, although there may be some spectacular storms in the Spring. Summer temperatures regularly reach 40 C but the geography ensures that there is usually a cooling breeze and the season is long, starting in April, with bathing in the sea continuing as late as November ! Within a few Kilometers are the mountains, which may be explored by car, and several coastal beauty spots. There is a coastal train service that will take you to other resorts and in the summer there are ferries to Sicily and the Aeolian Islands - including Stromboli.
Tropea area
In high season, Tropea seems to have a festival every week, and celebrates everything from Blues and Jazz to the locally grown red onions ! The top boat trip is said to be "Stromboli by night" and on many days Stromboli may be clearly be seen from Tropea. As in all Italy, music, the Arts and food figure prominently in Tropean life and the concerts and restaurants are for all to enjoy. Many of the restaurants focus on fresh fish, but there are also traditional Calabrese food outlets, and the Pizza/Pasta places compete with each other, each one declaring itself to be "the best in Tropea".
For the more active, there is Quad Bike Hire, Diving and Sailing.
How to get there
Nearest airport is Lamezia Terme (45 km). There is a regular train service to within a few hundred yards of the property or there is Car Hire at the airport or there are taxi's. Ryanair fly regularly from Stansted, Alitalia fly from Heathrow, Rome and Milan, Berlin Air from Germany.

Further details indoors: The property is situated in a quiet cul de sac and was refurbished to a high standard in Spring 2008 .There are three bedrooms, one double, one twin and one single. We have a large L shaped open plan arrangement incorporating Lounge Dining and Kitchen, and the apartment is light, airy spacious and comfortable. Everyday shops are within 100 m and the largest supermarket in Tropea is within 300 m walk.
Further details outdoors: There are two balconies that may be accessed from all main rooms via french doors. There is a designated Barbecue area off the kitchen, there are good views of the mountains and the sea may be seen from both balconies.
