Excellent private self-catering villa on Peninsula de Troia, in Soltroia condominium (130 ha). The villa is on a 1100 m2 plot, which is divided into a shaddy part with pines and other trees, swings, hammocks, garden benches and a terrace and a sunny part where the swimming-pool ( +- 12m/5.5m) and 2 terraces are. The villa is not luxurious but comfortable enough so that you can spend some nice and relax holidays. It is 120 meters from the Ocean beach and 2km far from Troia golf court designed by Trent Jones.

2 floors; on the ground-floor :1 bedroom (en suite), the kitchen fully equipped with everythig you can need in a kitchen even a barbecue, a bathroom with a shower and a large living-room (70 m2); on the 1st floor :1 bedroom (en suite), 3 bedrooms which share another bathroom and over the living-room a mezzanine (a snooker room) where there are a double bed sofa and a single bed sofa/bed with a drawer which is another single bed. There are 2 extra beds you can put everywhere and 2 cots.
Further details outdoors:
Terraces- 5; one on the top of the house, one on the 1st floor and three on the ground-floor; an outdoor eating area with another barbacue, private salted water swimming-pool ( +- 12/5.5 ) with a protection for children which can be taken off in 2 or 3 minutes if you don´t want it, private swings, garden furniture and garden benches. In the garden there is always a quieter place ( in the sunny or shaddy part ) where you can be alone to relax, read etc. .
In the condominium there is a shared swimming-pool, tennis courts, a maintenance circuit, a polysportiv court, supermarket, restaurants, cafés, esplanades etc..

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region
I´d divide this region into two parts, North and South of The Tagus because they are quite different .In the north one you can find many rural villages, The National Park of Sintra Mountain, many magnificent examples of our History monuments and a cosmopolitan life . There are lots of beaches but their waters are quite different from Troia waters because they are much colder and much more moved. The south is much poorer in historical monuments though you can find some but much more scattered .Sesimbra is an interesting touristic fisher village in the north foot of Arrabida Mountain .
The Troia / Soltroia area
Arrabida Mountain is a National Park whose foot is either sea or beaches, in general, in small coves. There we can find some unique surviving primitive Mediterranean vegetation in the world . It protects Peninsula de Troia from the northern winds . Arrabida means place of prayer and so there is a beautiful Convent you can visit . Some of our poets and writers took their inspiration in this mountain. Nature tour companies organize some interesting excursions not only through Arrabida Mountain and Peninsula de Troia but also along the river and the coast for a beautiful birdwatching such as flamingos and storks as well as dolphins .
Peninsula de Troia is between The Sado and the Atlantic Ocean opposite Setúbal . It´s about 18km long and 0.8km wide and there are river and ocean beaches . The Ocean coast is about 80km long of wild soft white sand beaches and very clean waters. Both the Peninsula and this coast are in a protected area and so development has been very controlled here. So it´s very easy to be quite alone in these beaches. Climate is mild in Winter and I think I can say similar Algarve along all the year because Soltroia is in a cove .
In Soltroia Condominium (451 plots) all the villas and apartments are private and the most of them are only used for holidays and week-ends of their owners . Just may be 6 retired families live there . The condominium has a security for 24 hours a day . It´s a very pleasant place to relax, walk, fish, swimm, practice all water sports, bike etc.

We booked this house for a week break with three generations of my family including 4 young children. An absolutely wonderful stay - the beautiful white sand beach is right on the doorstep, and there is a great pool if you don't want to leave the house. The owners were very helpful and the house itself is simply gorgeous. |
