About the home

Property is on the island Ciovo approx. 3km from the historical old-town Trogir - rich of cultural events, restaurants, and historical attractions. island of Ciovo is known for its magnificent beaches, shoreline rich in vegetation and isolated small bays. It's about 4 minutes walking to Okrug Main Beach with clean sea waters, equipped with all beach facilities, local bars and restaurant.

Apartment is on the ground floor with private garden, part of a six apartment complex suitable for couples or 3-person families. ideal for children.

Ideal for those while on holiday, are looking for all of the advantages of a tourist centre and yet would like to have some privacy on distant beaches in secluded bays.

The Dalmatia region

Dalmatia is southern part of Croatian beautiful costline with numerous island, mild climate and rich history.
You can visit historical monuments from ancient Greek,Roman to Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance in old towns like Trogir; Split, Hvar, Dubrovnik.

Dalmatian coast ,rich with bays,peninsula and island is not very populated and environmental clean. The Adriatic Sea's good water quality, along with the immense number of coves, islands and channels, makes it an attractive place for nautical tourism.

Dalmatia also includes several national parks that are tourist attractions: Paklenica Karsts River, Kornati archipelago, Krka river rapids and Mljet Island.

The Trogir / Ciovo area

Trogir is the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic, but in all of Central Europe.
Trogir is famous for its old town centre enlisted as UNESCO site of world heritage and a Romanic portal at the entrance into St. Ivan church.

The portal of famous Dalmatian cathedral St. Ivan was made by master Radovan, one of the best Croatian sculptors. This famous Romanesque portal dates back to the 13th century. The cathedral changed its appearance several times during the past, and in the 16th century it was attached with a Mannerist bell tower. The cathedral, together with the whole Trogir town centre was recognized as UNESCO site of world heritage. Next to Trogir lies island of Ciovo with idyllic small villages, beaches, and hidden bays ideal for swimming.

Placed in the area of mild Mediterranean climate, Trogir with its 2700 sunny hours per year is a real treasure among other tourist destinations in Croatia. Average air temperature throughout the year is above 15°C, reaching more than 30°C in summer. Sea temperature is well above 25°C during summer period.

Trogir is a charming old town transporting you to ancient times with it's beautiful medieval core, surrounded by walls.Evenings it's become romantic location with delicious local dishes and wines. Many cultural events are going on in the summer season.Trogir is also known for lively summer nights.

You will meet very friendly and charming people, smooth combination of Southern temperament and warm hospitality, thanks to our long tourist tradition.

After visiting Trogir,crossing the bridge you can relax yourself on Island Ciovo. Western side of Ciovo where the property is has the most popular beach. For a further escape you can find plenty of bays all around the Island. Don't forget to swim in Duga bay on the southern west part of island surrounded by pine trees with an original restaurant.

Property is on Island Ciovo 2 km from Trogir old town

1) Fly to Split .island Ciovo is just 6 km from the airport
2) fly to Zadar,island Ciovo is 60 km from the airport
1) Cheap flights available from Easyjet.co.uk from London to Split airport.
2) Cheap flights available from Ryanair from London to Zadar airport
Car hire available from airports
Local buses run regularly between the airport and the town.
There are always local taxis available

Local person on my charge will come to pick you up from the Split airport and bring you or show you the way to the property.

“Excellent holiday base, friendly people, lovely country - great for relaxing” The appartment made a great base. Everything we needed, comfortable & a good size for 2 adults (would have been a little crowded for 3). Real bonus was the garden - peaceful & relaxing with a b-b-q and table and chairs plus 2 garden chairs - great at the end of a day's hard graft on the beach! Good location, only a few minutes to the beach with bars and restaurants - took slightly longer on way back as up a steep hill. The other real bonus was Gordana - the owners Mum. What a lovely lady - friendly & helpful - she collected us from the airport, took us out, cooked us a meal - a real plus to anyone's stay. We wanted a relaxing holiday and we definately got it.

“Fabulous Croatia!!” What a wonderful relaxing holiday we had in Croatia. The apartment had everything we needed during our stay and with the BBQ and outside space we could make the most of the glorious weather. Ciovo is beautiful and for the more energetic, a gentle stroll to Trogir during the evening is well worth it. Alternatively the regular water taxis which work until late in the night give another view of the island. Gordana's hospitality was fabulous as we were welcomed both to Croatia and to the apartment with local treats and a tour of the town. We were made to feel part of the family which added to the holiday immensely, thank you xx. I would not hesitate to recommend this appartment to our friends and family and hope to return again ourselves.
