"Staying in the Venetian Tower made our holiday really special."

Trogir is such a lovely place to stay that all visits there would be memorable, but staying in the Venetian tower made our visit really special. Ideally located in the heart of this intriguing and be… More

You are right, Trogir is an intriguing place. Sometimes you can peep through the Venetian facades and see parts of Roman buildings behind. Its fun to stroll around the city and imagine the crusaders trading their silk and spices from the east for the gold and jewellery made in the tiny local shops.

"Fantastic location in the heart of medieval town sitting on the Adriatic coast"

The setting was great. having a base in the middle of a bustling lively medieval walled town with no cars and on the beautiful Adriatic coast was a delight. The top floor room was a a pleasure to sit in. The tower was full of character. Some storage space for clothes for the downstairs bedroom would be helpful and a microwave in the kitchen would be good, but we loved the tower, the neighbours black labrador and the excellent setting. We had a great week and our two teenage boys thought it was the best week's holiday they have had.

Thank you for your comments. I will buy a microwave when I am there next month. The wardrobe by the front door was really for the downstairs bedroom but I may need to rethink this.
Isn't it great not being involved with cars for a week? I hope you will come again.

"Interesting and well-equipped old building which couldn't be more central."

We really enjoyed our week in the Venetian Tower. It's a real tower, with one room on each of five floors, right in the heart of the Old Town. We loved having somewhere so central and yet quiet to go back to after days out by boat to local beaches or to Split. It's moments from great restaurants and the buzz of the waterfront. Great views from the top floor. The washing machine was a great boon as we like to travel light. Our children are 7 and 11 and the tower was perfect for them. We'd love to go back.

It always surprises me how quiet it can be, considering how close it is to everything. It must be great fun as a 7 or 11 year old to stay in a place like this. Probably they will always remember it. I do hope you will come again.

"Perfect location"

The Tower lived up to all our expectations. My main concern was no outdoor space but the top floor with all it's windows and breezes was a wonderful substitute. For a week without a car, Trogir had everything to hand; beaches, islands, restaurants and boats to all of them.

Locals sit on the Riva to enjoy outside space. Almost nowhere in trogir offers outside space. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay.

"Excellent Family Trip to Trogir"

We had the opportunity to stay in the Venetian Tower this month. We had a fantastic time in all aspects. The location is perfect, the water taxis to/from the beaches were very convenient, and the food was superb. Highly Recommended! A quick note: This property is truly a tower! It is 5 floors with many steep steps. We loved it as it helped work out the many fabulous meals we consumed. The owner Paul was very responsive and a pleasure with work with throughout the process. Go to Togir and stay here, you will not be sorry!

Most people leave a little fitter than they arrive. It is an unusual place to stay and a different experience from staying in a new apartment or an hotel. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. You would be most welcome again.

"Charming tower in Trogir"

The tower is a wonderful place to stay in Trogir. It is centrally located, well equipped and charming. The hosts were helpful, friendly and reliable. Bring earprops and mosquito remedies for a peaceful, good night!

I am glad you enjoyed your stay.
It is the Asian Tiger Mosquito that is giving all the problems these days. Apparently it has now spread over most of southern Europe and has a nasty bite. As you rightly point out it is worth being prepared when you arrive, and they wont cause you any problems. You may have noticed that the top floor of The Tower seems to be free of them. This could be just the height or something to do with the Swifts consuming them all.

"Perfect place in perfect location"

Wonderful old tower with amazing views from the top floor, we stayed here with friends before picking our boat up from the local marina for a weeks sailing.
Local daily market nearby and fantastic restaurant, Kristians very good. Perfect place for exploring trogir, would definitely recommend as a fabulous place to stay to soak up the wonderful atmosphere of the area.

The Tower is very old. When it was built Oslo has just been founded, gunpowder was just discovered in China and Edgar was king of England. Most of the buildings have not changed much since then, so there is a magical atmosphere. A few hundred years after the Tower was built Trogir was trading gold and silver for silk and product from the East that had travelled down the Silk Road. All over Trogir you will still see the small shops with their rounded stone shelves.

"Could not do better"

We had 2 weeks in the Tower from 26 April to 10 May 2013. From the very first everything was a breeze - ease of booking with the genial Paul, the friendly greeting at the Split Airport from Ivica and … More

You chose a very good time of year. Warm but not too hot, open and buzzing but not over crowded.
We all hope you will both come again as it was a pleasure for all of us.

"Felt completely relaxed and at home straight away."

The tower is in an incredible location, right in the heart of Trogir. It is very well equipped , comfortable and clean. The owners have provided everything you would need to feel at home. We travelled with teenagers and they were able to have their own space on the ground floor and come and go as they wished, due to the super convenient location. The tower is full of character, with the kitchen and top floor living area providing great spaces to get together to drink wine and play cards!
Everything was perfect for a totally relaxing holiday. You just step out of the tower and there are plenty of restaurants, shops and bars. The sea is only a couple of minutes away, with plenty of water taxis to take you to one of the beaches. Despite being in the heart of things, the tower is very quiet at night, due to the high walls. The atmosphere in Trogir at night is magical, with live music in the beautiful old square. The gorgeous architecture provided a fantastic setting.
It was a very relaxing and easy holiday, no need for a car. I would thoroughly recommend the tower and Trogir for all age groups.

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for choosing us.

"excellent location"

I think we have got more than we paid for: the nice and clean Venetian Tower in the heart of the beautiful Old Town, friendly Croatian people, good food and plenty of places to visit ( Krka, Plitvickie Jezera- a must!, Split, boat trips, canyoning). You will find only rocky beaches in the area, but there are plenty of charming little bays with crystal, azure blue water, perfect for snorkeling. Our kids (6,11) had a great fun in the Tower, but the stairs may cause some inconvenience for the elderly or families with little kids.

Thank you for a wonderful review. Of course there are many stairs as it is a five storey tower. However, we have had families with elderly parents and it has worked. They have stayed on the ground floor en-suit bedroom and only ventured as far as the first floor kitchen/diner. Once you leave the Tower everything is a level walk which is unusual for Dalmatia.
You obviously had a great time and I am so pleased about that.
