The Dalmatia region

Centtral Dalmatia is Croatia's finest tourist region. It is famous with 1700-year-old Split built in Diocletian's Palace . There are a number of small Dalmatian old towns placed on coastline such as Trogir, Sibenik, Omis etc which all represent Dalmatia’s great cultural and historical heritage.
Trogir - the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic, but in all of Central Europe is famous for its old town enlisted as UNESCO site of world heritage.

Dalmatia also includes several national parks that are tourist attractions: Krka waterfalls, Paklenica karst river, Kornati archipelago, and Mljet island. The national park Plitvice waterfalls are not far from the middle of the Dalmatia and you can easily visit it from Trogir.
A number of one-day trips are available from Trogir:
SPLIT - A town of classical Roman, old Croatian, Romanesque and renaissance architecture, with a Mediterranean atmosphere. Split is easily accessible, by road or if preferred, by local water taxi in under an hour.
Split is easily explored on foot and is a delightful place to while away a few hours. When you need a rest, where better to enjoy a cup of coffee than on the expansive marina looking out onto the islands of Brac and Hvar.
MAKARSKA, the centre of the riviera and coastal area, is a natural choice, with its town square, Cathedral of St. Mark, but above all because of the Franciscan Monastery and its rich collections.
PRIMOSTEN, a gorgeous islet 20 minutes north of Trogir. The perfect place to spend a day exploring. Wonderful beaches will enjoy guests on the way to the town.
KRKA Waterfalls, one hour north of Trogir. Enjoy a leisurely walk throught the forest, spectacular views of the waterfalls and the chance to swim in the lake.
THE ISLAND OF HVAR The town of Hvar is the biggest settlement on the island and is famous for its lavendar. It abounds in Romanesque and Renaissance buildings, and Mediterranean atmosphere. A must see for a day trip.
DUBROVNIK - A Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque town - all in one, is a must. Located on the very southern end of Croatia.All-day excursions.
