The Dalmatia region

The Dalmatian coast enjoys a long warm summer and mild winter. Its rugged beauty and charming villages and beaches are no longer a best-kept secret. Vineyards cling to the sides of the coastal mountains and sit among old stone houses and the occasional castle. Seget Donji is a traditional Croatian fishing village which adjoins Trogir. It is also known as the 'Middle of Adriatic' because of its geographical position - exactly in the middle of coastline of the Adriatic Sea.
The Trogir / Seget Donji area
There is no doubt that Trogir is the star attraction of this area. This well-preserved walled town goes back to Roman times and is a UNESCO World Heritage site; a must-see gem. We recommend climbing the castle tower in TROGIR, or the church spire, for a birdseye view of the area as a whole. Other attractions well worth visiting are Krka waterfalls, historical Split (which also enjoys UNESCO World Heritage status), picturesque Primosten and the island of Brac. Or just enjoy the delights of relaxing or swimming in the Adriatic (during peak times the specified safe swimming areas have lifeguards in attendance). Local activities include diving, swimming, tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, fishing, wind-surfing, water skiing, mountain biking, paragliding, jet-skis. Charter boats are ready to take you on a unique offshore day trip. The 'fish picnic ' is fun. The beaches are very popular from June to September.
Coast/Beach
A 50 metre walk takes you from the apartment to the pebble beach. You walk around the right hand side of an old stone building in front which, we are reliably informed, was used as a barracks by Napoleon’s soldiers. 100 metres to the right is the authentic working fishing hamlet of Seget Donji. Two restaurants, a café and a shop add to the charming old world ambiance of the place. There is a certain tranquility about the Seget Donji village when contrasted with the more touristy Trogir. Mingle with the locals as they watch the fishermen return with their catch. Another few steps and you are on 'Lungomare' - a 3km long seaside/beach pavement which runs between Seget Donji and the Medena Hotel complex. This stretch has swimming spots, bars/restaurants, watersports and other activities. (NOTE – some amenities are closed in the winter season.)
A new marina and yacht club has just opened (2010) 100 metres to our left. It has a bar, restaurant and pool, and the water taxi to Trogir leaves from here.

Guestbook for Apartment Olive Tree
We enjoyed our stay in this modern apartment in the little village of Seget Donji. The apartment has everything one could need for a comfortable, pleasant stay. The view from the balcony is lovely- the cruise boats coming in the morning, and then the beautiful sunsets over a blue sea in the evening. We loved the location – local supermarkets are within walking distance and adequately stocked for a self- catering stay. Trogir and the wonderful fresh produce market is also close by.
The apartment is also a very convenient base to explore the Dalmatian Coast. The walk along the beach front is a pleasure and the meal we had at Frankies (I think that was the restaurant) was superb. We loved our stay in this apartment and would definitely choose it again to visit that part of the world.

In a word - brilliant.
We had an excellent holiday and when you think we had 3 teenagers, everybody had a really good holiday.
The appartment was lovely, it was so well designed and fitted out.
The surrounding area was really good, we liked the restuarents nearby Frankie etc- our highlight was the visit to the National Park.
Therefore thank you very much for letting us stay in your holiday appartment from the Burns family.
All the Best,
John
P.S. Do not be surprised if have lots of enquires from people from Brighton UK about the appartment!
We had a most pleasant stay. The proximity to the beach and nearby village were features and just looking out over the sea made it very relaxing. Would certainly recommend it to our friends.

We had a fantastic holiday in Croatia, your apartment is in an ideal location, very quiet (which we like) but not far to walk or take a water taxi for a night out in Trogir or bars / restaurants walking in the other direction. Our boys had a great time with the water sports, ping pong, crazy golf , fishing and off course ice cream ! We also took the bus and the boat for days out in Split. Ivan from the village took us out on his boat for the day, we had a fantastic trip.
Your apartment is beautiful, nothing more we could have asked for. We spent many a pleasant evening sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine watching the boating world sail by. We would certainly recommend your apartment to anyone who is thinking of visiting Croatia as we wanted for nothing and the location is fabulous.
