The Dalmatia region
Dalmatia is Croatia's largest tourist region. There are three large cities; the old city of Zadar, 1700-year-old Split, and Dubrovnik to the south. There are a number of small Dalmatian old towns placed on coastline such as Trogir, Sibenik, Omis etc which all represent Dalmatia’s huge cultural and historical heritage. The Dalmatian coastline includes a number of coves, islands and channels. This makes it an attractive place for nautical tourism also. A large number of marinas are placed in Dalmatian coastline. Dalmatia also includes several national parks that are tourist attractions: Krka waterfalls, Paklenica karst river, Kornati archipelago, and Mljet island. The national park Plitvice waterfalls are not far from the middle of the Dalmatia. Dalmatia is characterised by Mediterranean climate and huge culinary heritage also.
Trogir / Seget Donji area
Seget Donji is an old fishing village 2 km West from Trogir, easily reachable from Trogir by road or by foot. A great seashore, with lovely beaches (“Blue Flag” status) and a seaside promenade which stretches from the old town of Seget Donji to the Medena hotel complex, is used by locals and tourists for walking and jogging. Guestbook for Apartment, Self-catering
- Value for money and a great apartment First time to Croatia, and the apartment was a superb base from which to explore. Very clean and well equipped, and the views from the balcony are stunning. Local beaches and shops cater for all tastes, the evening walk to get ice creams for the kids rounded off a relaxing day. Trogir by water taxi is recommended. Eating out in trogir by the waterfront was excellent value for money, a meal for 4 was less than 35 pounds. Water rafting in Cetina is amazing, and organized through our hosts. A visit to the water falls in Krka is also a must. The local shops seem to take Euro or the local currency the Kuna, the restaurant Zule's did not take credit card but any form of cash from pounds to dollars! - Theroes, Essex
- A perfect base for exploring the Dalmation coast We stayed at this apartment for two weeks in August 2008 and found it to be the perfect base for exploring this part of the Dalmatian Coast. Trogir is very near for an evening out and can be reached by water taxi very cheaply in the evening although there are also good restaurants locally as well. There are a couple of beaches (both stone) within a short walk and you can drive to some nice fishing villages with beaches in very quickly. The apartment is very modern and clean, the kitchen is well equipped and there is also a good washing machine. The balconies have plenty of room to eat outside (in fact we didn't have a meal in doors, not even breakfast). The views from the balcony are fabulous looking across to the various islands and Trogir, the pictures do not do them justice. The owners seemed easy to make the arrangements with and were always available to offer advice about where to go and eat. It was very hard to fault for a reasonable price. -- Andy, Gloucestershire
- A great place to stay with excellent service I was extremely lucky and found this apartment. The owner was very helpful in any way and I got driving directions to the apartment from the airport and he even drove us to the airport when we were leaving. The apartment was really nice and the standard was high. The view from the terrace facing the sea was outstanding. The apartment is close to Trogir and Split if you want to go sightseeing. The area is really nice and there are a lot of restaurants near the apartment, but since the kitchen was so good we made some of the dinners ourself and was eating sitting at the terrace watching the sea. The beach with sun chairs and a lot of water activities is just a few minutes away by foot. I'd recommend this apartment to anyone planning to go to Croatia. - Dan, Stockholm
- Our holiday such a great success Just wanted to say thanks once again for all your help. We had a wonderful time, and really appreciate your help - it made things a lot less stressful to know that I could contact you if necessary (particularly as I was on my own with the boys). The apartment was lovely - just what we wanted, and the boys are already asking to come back next year!! I will pass your details to anyone interested in hiring an apartment. Many many thanks for making our holiday such a great success. - Lorraine, London
- A such a nice place We stayed at the apartment in June 08 and found it very comfortable, well equipped and superb for seeing this lovely coastal region. The views are amazing from the balcony and it’s so easy to get to the beach and stroll along the waterfront. There are a handful of really friendly restaurants all within walking distance and the old town of Trogir is very nice. We were amazed to find such a nice place all within 3 hours flight time and so free of the usual British holidaymakers you get on the Med. - Ian, Bristol
