The Dalmatia region

On the island in the middle of the Adriatic there is the town founded by the Greeks, marked by the Romans, inhabited by the Slavs, invaded by the Saracens. Venice and Napoleon ruled this town that was once even in the Habsburg Empire.

Its antique name is Tragurion and today it is called – Trogir. 2300 years of Trogir history can be felt from Porta Terrae Fermae, the door of the mainland protected by St. John, patron of the town, till the renaissance porta civitatis - town door. Leant on the city walls, a small loggia by the south town door offered the shelter for the late passengers that waited the morning opening of the town. On the west renaissance and baroque palaces were protected by Kamerlengo fortress, once a naval base for Venetian navy forces, while on the north-west the fortress of St. Mark defended the town from the Turks.

Patient eyes will find many breath-taking views that never fade among around 15 towers of Trogir churches: from the cathedral of St. Lawrence that was built for four centuries to the church of St. Nicolas and the Benedictine nunnery with the oldest inscription in Trogir, written on the wall of its cloister.

Trogir does not abandon those who enjoy cosy walks on the waterfront or those fond of Mediterranean specialties and hidden small restaurants. How to get there

Airport shuttle and car rental we provide on request.

Take the Zagerb-Split highway A1 to Trogir. When you come to Trogir do not cross the bridge, just go straight.

You need to go through Seget Donji than hotel Medena, when you cross hotel medena than you are from our hotel about 500m away. Just continue driving and you will see the hotel on the right side of the road.
