The Dalmatia region

Middle Dalmatia is a beautiful place to visit. Trogir and Split area offer you historical sites, traditional Mediterranean house and architecture, beautiful beaches, islands and welcoming people. Okrug is situated on the west part of Island Ciovo. It consists of two traditional Dalmatian inhabited places Okrug Gornji and Okrug donji. The island of Ciovo is connected to mainland by the bridge in ancient Trogir so it makes an entirety with a city. Okrug Donji is the smallest place on Ciovo island.

Trogir

Trogir, small town near Split, is a lively and picturesque town situated on the stone and the sea, a wonderful Mediterranean town on the shores of the Adriatic Sea in Dalmatia, Republic of Croatia.

Its geographic location gives Trogir an additional charm. It is situated in the middle of the Dalmatian part of the coast, on the entrance of the spacious bay, between the ?iovo island and the mainland, between the stone and the level fruitful land. Trogir is famous for its old town centre enlisted as UNESCO site of world heritage and a Romanic portal at the entrance into St. Ivan church. Trogir is also known for lively summer nights. Next to Trogir lies island of ?iovo with idyllic small villages, beaches, and hidden bays ideal for swimming.

Placed in the area of mild Mediterranean climate, Trogir with its 2700 sunny hours per year is a real treasure among other tourist destinations in Croatia. Average air temperature throughout the year is above 15°C, reaching more than 30°C in summer. Sea temperature is well above 25°C during summer period.

The portal of famous Dalmatian cathedral St. Ivan was made by master Radovan, one of the best Croatian sculptors. This famous Romanesque portal dates back to the 13th century. The cathedral changed its appearance several times during the past, and in the 16th century it was attached with a Mannerist bell tower. The cathedral, together with the whole Trogir town centre was recognized as UNESCO site of world heritage.

Everywhere you go in Trogir area, you will meet very friendly and charming people, smooth combination of Southern temperament and warm hospitality, thanks to our long tourist tradition.
