Further details indoors:
The apartment is just four years old with a very high ceiling giving a feeling of space. The floors are tiled and the decoration is in neutral colours. There is a balcony large enough for a small dining table and two chairs with pleasant views of the sea and bay area. There are double glazed windows with shutters with an air conditioning unit in the sitting room.
The kitchen is well equipped with many little touches like espresso maker and tea pot. The bedroom has lovely sea views stretching across the bay. The bathroom has an efficient shower. Again all the extras have been thought of including washing machine, iron and ironing board and a hair dryer.
Further details outdoors:
The apartment is located very close to the end of the building zone. This means there are coastal and rural walks within minutes. The lively Okrug beach is just a few minutes walk to the right and isolated beaches are just a few minutes walk to the left of behind the apartment on the other side of the island.
The entrance hallway and stairs and built from Brac marble. There are fifty-four stairs from the front door of the building to the front door of the apartment, enabling views over the surrounding buildings.

Q. Do I need to hire a car if I am staying at the Glavica apartment?
A. It is worth considering car hire. Although you have shops, bars, restaurants and beaches within a few minutes walk, Trogir is about 40 minutes walk. There is a local bus but it is not reliable during the main season due to the traffic on the bridge. There is now a ferry in operation that takes about twenty minutes and cost around one pound.

Just returned from a week in the Glavica apartment and we were very impressed. The apartment is clean and well equipped and has a wonderful view of the sea.
Although the hills are quite daunting we soon got used to them and found some short cuts so we didn't do too much hill walking! The beach area is lovely but watershoes are a necessity, be warned they are much cheaper in Trogir market than the beach side huts! Also 'shop around' when hiring sun beds as they differ greatly in price! There are some lovely restaurants in Okrug Gornji, our favourite was Leonardo's at the harbour where we had excellent mixed grilled fish, it can get quite crowded though. Trogir is fabulous, literally an amazing town, you can get lost in it's tiny streets for hours! Good food to be had in Monicka's with excellent service.
The bus to Split only takes an hour and is quite pleasant until you reach the outskirts where the horrible tower blocks and industrial plants mar the landscape, however, once you get to the harbour and Diocletian's Palace you realise it's well worth the visit. Big thanks to Dragica and Ivica for the pick up at the airport and for letting us know where the local services where. All in all a brilliant week.
The Trogir area
The apartment is located on the island of Ciovo. In Trogir there is a daily market, a Sunday fish market and beautiful architecture spanning nearly three thousand years. Several local beaches are a few minutes walk away.

I came across this apartment whilst browsing self catering on the internet, what particularly interested us in this apartment was its location-considering this was our first holiday in Croatia we could not have picked a better setting with the most perfect apartment for two people that had fantastic views. On arrival at Split airport we were met by Ivica (pre-arranged transfer through Paul, Ivica and his wife Caroline live pretty much opposite the apartment block) who drove us to the apartment- lovely gentlemen-very friendly and showed us where all the local shops/beaches etc were. His wife actually took us back to the airport on the way home and she was also lovely and great to chat too. We arrived at the apartment, top floor (3rd floor), balcony with good views of the sea especially as you are at the top of the hill. Sitting room with great air conditioning (which we needed as the temp hit 42 degree some days!!) Kitchen was also great, really well equipped and we did end up staying in many nights, cooking and watching tv ;) ! Bedroom, good sized bathroom also with a washing machine which was a plus. All very clean and only have positive comments regarding the apartment! The location of the apartment is very good, it is pretty peaceful, you can hear the crickets with the windows open yet it is not far away from anything- the local supermarket and beach is not even a 10 minute walk. The two best beaches that were less crowded were: 1) Come out of the apartment and walk down to the bottom of the hill, turn left and carry on walking until you come to a slight wooded area, walk through here and you come to a beautiful cove, great for swimming and sun bathing. 2) Walk up the hill out of the apartment and turn left, follow the road all the way round until you reach the junction, cross straight over the junction and follow the signs for 'Kamp'..basically walk down a dusty track and you again come to a lovely cove. We went to Trogir a few nights which was great, you can get a water taxi for about £1.50 each from Okrug beach, different boats run every 15 minutes or so and take you right to the Harbour in Trogir. If you like pizza we would highly recommend 'Riva'- great food and brilliant staff, very reasonable also! Right on the harbour front. We did one excursion to Krka National Falls-this is a must- it was a fantastic day out and the waterfalls were spectacular- we booked the tour through 'Portal' as recommended when booking the apartment. We returned to the UK yesterday- still wishing we were back in Okrug Gonji at Glavica apartment! On a final note, booking and transfers was so easy, quick responses from Paul when I contacted asking for availiability, everything confirmed very quickly so did not have anything to worry about! Would and have already recommended the apartment and area to family and friends- we will definitely return! :D Response: Thank you for such a lovely review. You have really given our guests a lot of information that should help them to make a good decision. Much more believable as it have come from you, a visitor. I agree that Glavica is a bit of a hidden gem. I hope your review will help us to fill it up next season so more people can enjoy the place. Of course we will always try to make room for you. Many thanks for bringing at least a little Dalmatian Sun back home for us. |

The apartment was great everything you would need, lovely and clean and the previous holidaymakers tips and information left at the apartment was really useful, where to eat, excursions to take etc. The only downside, the apartment was at the top of a hill and then three flights of stairs to get to the apartment but by the end of the stay we were a lot fitter lol........anyway still great value for money. We were also collected and taken back to the airport by really nice people, which took the hassle out of everything. Response: There is no denying that it is on top of quite a steep hill. However, this does give you the views and the cool breeze. There aren't many flat places in Dalmatia, which is part of the attraction. Glad you enjoyed your stay. You might want to consider our little apartment in Looe, Cornwall which is only one minutes walk from the sandy beach. |
