The Jersey region
Jersey is the largest of the Channel islands and the most southerly. It is a short 40 minute flight from the UK mainland and just over an hour from France by fast wave piercer car ferries.
The island has a pleasant climate with warm weather enjoyed from early Spring until well into the Autumn with late May and June being exceptionally good times to visit, closely followed by the mellow days of Autumn.
Whilst the island is served by a bus service, your own transport is highly recommended - either your own car or a hired car or bicycle to make the most of your visit.
The cottage is situated just 6km from the main town of St Helier with its shops, bars and restaurants to suit every taste and budget. From here visitors can take a ferry for a day trip to France or the other Channel Islands.
The central location makes this a perfect base for touring the whole island. The lovely Bonne Nuit Bay, on the north coast, is just a short drive away, as is the scuba diving centre at Bouley Bay. All of the beaches and amenities of the whole island are within a half hour drive. The north coast has panoramic views and can be accessed by the stunning North Coast Cliff path walk.
