The Midi-Pyrenees region

L'Amersfoort is situated in the region widely known as Gascony - famous for d'Artagnan (and the 3 muskateers), foie gras, Armagnac and wines.

The house is on the border of the Gers and Hautes Pyrenees in SW France and is very rural with rolling hills, lakes and stunning views. Gascony was rules by the Britain for over 300 years and traces can still be found in the architecture of some churches.

If you are looking for a gentler pace of life for your holiday, with good weather, food and wine thrown in, Gascony is ideal.

The weather in Gascony is normally hot and sunny during July and August, with temperatures around 30 degrees. The garden has lots of shade via trees, parasols or the covered barn.

Trie-sur-Baise

L'Amersfoort sits on the Gers/Hautes Pyrenees border in a small rural farming hamlet. The house has lovely views of the Pyrenees to the south and is surrounded by fields.

Nearby shops and supermarkets are about a 10km drive away for all your needs, or you can drive to Auch or Tarbes (a little further afield) to visit historic churches and larger shops and hypermarkets.
