Further details indoors:
Le Pain au Four is one of two cottages created from the original 200 year old farmhouse and barn, next to our home 'La Borie Haute' which was the original Pigeonnier.
Le Pain au Four provides separate living and dining rooms on the ground floor, with original stone walls, beams and fireplace. The oak fitted kitchen is fitted with a gas cooker with electric grill and rotisserie, extractor hood, refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher and ample storage facilities. There is also a WC. The ground floor is fully tiled, with French windows opening onto the terrace from both the dining and living rooms and this overlooks the swimming pool, garden and valley.
On the first floor, which is fully carpeted, there are two double bedrooms each with beamed ceilings. The smaller bedroom benefits from an en-suite fully tiled shower room, with WC and vanity unit, the second bedroom has a separate fully tiled shower room again with WC and vanity unit. Showers are thermostatically controlled and there are heated towel rails in each shower room. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and chest of drawers.
The cottage is furnished to a very high standard, mixing the best of French & English furniture and fabrics, blending well with the original features and creating a light airy and spacious ambience. Complimenting this is a range of quality glass & chinaware. The cottage has central heating if required, and a water softener.
All linen, with weekly change, towels, towelling robes, hairdryers, bedding, electricity, gas, constant hot water, welcome pack of local produce and wine are included at no extra cost.
There is a shared 11x6m heated even depth swimming pool set in a large attractive garden with wonderful views on all sides.
Further details outdoors:
We overlook the village of Trémolat some 1.5kms away, which is itself situated on the banks of the Dordogne River. On the edge of the small hamlet of Gréze, rolling countryside, valleys and woods surround us, with superb views and where bird and wildlife abounds. The access road to us serves only the hamlet with minimal traffic; it is a very peaceful location.
The cottage has terraces on both sides allowing you to find the sun at all times of the day. The pool is beautifully maintained and of even depth - great for the not too confident swimmer.
The garden is full of colour and if you like butterflies you will be in your element!
The following are all provided: For outside living - Pool towels, sun loungers, recliners, table and chairs, cushions, pergola, parasols, 4 bicycles and BBQ plus charcoal and firelighters

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

The Perigord is a region of outstanding beauty and historical interest. The Perigord Noir or Black Perigord so called due to the black foliage of the numerous oak trees found here covers the region east of Bergerac and both sides of the Dordogne River. It possesses the most spectacularly sited castles, arguably the loveliest scenery and a fascinating past.
It is an area to explore and enjoy at a leisurely pace. Be it caves, of which Lascaux is perhaps the most famous, castles such as Beynac, Castelnaud or Biron, the walled villages – Bastides – of Monpazier, Domme or Beaumont, or the capital of the region, Sarlat with it’s medieval and Renaissance architecture, there is an interest for everyone.
And what better way to end each day than to indulge in the local cuisine, rich in duck, truffles and cepes, goats cheese and strawberries to mention just a few, with perhaps a bottle of Bergerac wine to assist the digestion. Whether you visit one of the numerous local restaurants or cook yourself using produce bought from the many outstanding village markets, you will not be disappointed.
The Tremolat area
Tremolat is ideally situated on the Dordogne River and has a watersports centre, there are also plenty of places locally to hire canoes.
There are 3 restaurants in Tremolat ranging from a pizzeria to a 1 star Michelin hotel/restaurant.
During July & August Tremolat has 4 night markets which are not to be missed and are great fun.
