The Chartreuse is set in the quiet countryside of the Dordogne Valley and the Perigod Noir, just a couple of kilometres outside the charming village of Tremolat. The River Dordogne is well known for its beaches, canoeing, fishing and other activities such as boat trips and cruiser hire. In addition, Tremolat has a “Base Nautique” with water ski-ing and canoeing. The area is full of activities for the whole of the family if you can tear yourself away from the pool- side.

It is 38km to the bustling town of Bergerac with its International Airport and many excellent restaurants and shops. There are over 40 picturesque and historic bastide towns to visit in the area such as Beaumont and Monpazier. Limeuil is just 7 kms away where the Dordogne and Vezere rivers meet.
