The perfect holiday base in the heart of Tremezzo! The loft-style apartment is situated to the top floor of an ancient townhouse and is reached by a wide stone well and beautiful original hallway entrance.

Inside guests can enjoy a spacious modernised apartment with an open plan living area with romantic -style sloping exposed beamed ceilings. Large Velux windows allow for plenty of light to flood the property, making it a welcoming and relaxed place to enjoy your holiday.

The open plan room features a modern kitchenette ideal for preparing simple meals with a gas oven and hob, a toaster, coffee machine and refrigerator. A lovely light area situated off from a comfortable sitting area with TV provides a lovely dining area for up to 4 guests.

A spacious double bedroom provides the ideal accommodation for couples with a beamed ceiling providing an intimate atmosphere and featuring a solid wooden double, chest of drawers, side tables and a large Velux window to create a bright and welcoming space. The property also features a modern newly fitted bathroom.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.

Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries.

It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations.

All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio and Como itself.

Warming, inspriing and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Como, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto
narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water. Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.

The Tremezzo area

Guests can enjoy exploring Tremezzo’s cafe and restaurant lined lakefront or its cobbled historical back passageways which lead to ancient townhouses, villas and the ‘La Cantina’ wine bar, which is ideal for evening aperitifs on its vine covered terrace and for buying regional produce and fine wines.

Tremezzo also features grocery shops, delicatessens, a boutique shop, paper shop, hair salon, a bus service and a passenger ferry service. Locals enjoy lake swimming and sunbathing in Tremezzo’s landscaped lakefront park and the renovated boathouse bar known as ‘Aqua Cheta’ which is situated in the park provides a fabulous place to enjoy evening drinks as the sun sets over the Bay of Lenno.

Guests wanting to eat out will be spoilt for choice with a wide range of local pizzerias, hillside agroturismos and local fine dining at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, the Grand Hotel Cadenabbian and the lakefront ‘La Darsena’.

The beautiful surrounding hillside is popular with hikers and breathtaking panoramic views can be admired from the San Martino church which is at the end of the mountainous San Martino trail from Griante.

There are many places of interest in this area, but the spectacular 'Villa Carlotta' is without doubt the most famous tourist attraction in Tremezzo, it is open to the public and a visit here is essential. Built in 1690 for the Milanese Marchese Giorgio Clerici, it has fountains, sculptures and a magnificent Italian garden. Another outstanding attraction is the statue of the Madonna Nera (the Black Virgin). The Swiss Catholic Aschler family initially brought the statue to Italy and it is now on show at the Church of Santa Maria.

The car and passenger ferry service from Cadenabbia is also just a short drive away and operates a fast and frequent service to the other beautiful tourist towns of Menaggio, Bellagio and Varenna.

Making a Booking:

To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our online booking form and pay a 30% deposit by wire transfer or credit card. The remaining holiday balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
