Home description
The Old Granary is ideal for a couple, is completely self-contained and has an open-plan design. The pine-furnished double bedroom is on an open mezzanine to the rear and overlooks the lounge/dining room, in which you’ll find a small wood-burning stove, a settee, a TV, a dining table and kitchenette. The stone terrace has patio furniture and a barbecue for your use. You would also be welcome to make use of our private splash pool and garden during the summer months.
An ideal location for walkers, mountain-bikers and water-lovers alike with some beautiful scenery in a very peaceful area of France.

The Limousin / Auvergne / Correze region
The Correze could be described as the Lake District of France with it's hills, lakes and forests. It's an ideal place for walking and cycling and is still relatively undiscovered as a tourist area.
During July and August the pace of life speeds up a little, but in comparison with most tourist areas, it is still peaceful and uncrowded.
There are many places of interest to discover. See our website for further detail.
THE WEATHER
May & June: The best time to come: usually hot and sunny with the countryside bursting into life and very few tourists around to appreciate it. You can often have the beach to yourself.
July & August: Usually very hot with stormy moments. Many more tourists and activities in the villages. A good time to come if you like a little more life, but still a peaceful area when compared to most tourist areas of France.
Sep, Oct & Nov: September is often still hot and summery, but there are fewer tourists. We can still get some lovely weather right through to November and even up to Christmas, when the snow often arrives. Few tourists.
Dec-Feb: Sometimes lots of snow. Usually in the minus temperatures. Glorious views.
Mar & Apr: These spring months can be unpredictable with hail storms followed by beautiful sunshine. Bring your brolly, but it's an ideal time for walking and exploring the area before it becomes too hot.
Treignac / Chamberet area
Chamberet is the nearest town with facilities, such as a supermarket, shops, restaurants and bars and this is approximately 6km (4miles) down the valley.
Treignac, which is approximately 10km away, is designated one of the most beautiful villages in France and here you will find the lake with beach, swimming and watersports in summer.
Through the hamlet itself, there are walking and mountain bike trails and there is an equestrian centre only 1km (less than a mile) away.
How to get there
There are some really good deals with Ryanair to Limoges airport, which is only about 50km away. Car hire is available from Limoges airport.
